Thread: The Birkin Bag by Slow & Steady Wins The Race

Take a second good look at this, as it’s not what it seems to be. I recently ran into this new clothing label Slow and Steady Wins the Race (yup, that’s its name), and I was utterly shocked at their latest handbag design, the 4 Sided Birken. No, I didn’t misspell anything, I’m not making this up, and I’m not pointing fingers either, but can you all see the resemblance to the French Couture Brand Hermes Birkin? Top handle straps, secure flap, square-ish silhouette, and leather body?!

I would never be caught dead carrying a fake and even designer inspired handbags are a big NO in my book. Clearly, the infamous Birkin inspired Slow and Steady’s version. It’s no surprise how a Hermes Birkin can cost the average person a kidney and their first born, surprisingly, the Slow & Steady’s Birken doesn’t run cheap as it carries a steep price tag of $1,100! Personally, I'd rather save my pennies for years to buy the original Hermes Birkin!

The bow in the front is horrid.
But then again, I would never spend the money on a Birkin either.

Ew this is awful! And for that price?! Gosh people seem to make money on the stupidest things... I wonder if anyone's buying these.

eeek... i know. I hope not...

^^ I know, right? Some people probably think they look like the real thing... horrifying! LOL

I'm definitely not a big fan of inspired by bags; designers should come up with their own style ideas themselves. And asking $1K+ for that is definitely crazy; for that price you can get any one of a variety of awesome, originally designed quality bags.

I wouldn't be surprised if they hear from Hermes on this one - looks to me like this could be getting very close to trademark infringements!

I never have, and doubt I ever will, understand why people buy replicas or 'inspired by' bags - and I certainly wouldn't want a bar of it. I love my luxury brands, but if I couldn't afford the real thing, I would definitely either save my pennies until I could, or proudly carry a non-label bag.

No matter who it's copying, it's just plain ugly. And the material looks horrid!
