Hi, I was just wondering if you place yourself on the waitlist for the birkin bag and after 5 yrs you decide not to get it, is it okay? Or do you really have to buy it?

In some countries, there are no waitlists. You can walk into a Hermes Boutique and buy a Birkin off the shelf.

Mainly Asian markets. The demand is so high there.

Often there is no waiting but they say there is a list.
They have bags in the back for frequent customers. Ask for one and they tell you there is a list, then they bring them out for VIP's.
