Default Help with a Bag for college.

Ok so in the fall of 09 I will be off to the Art Institute Of Illinois . Im going for my bachelors in Fashion Design. I really want a good bag to hold some of my things for me while in in class such as my designs , fabric scraps and things like that. The worst part is I really dont want to go over $1000 seeing as my monthly dorm rate is $1200 . I Love Louis Vuitton. I would love a bag that won't make me look to feminine ( Im a gay guy) . But I want something classy . I did have my eye on the Monogram Canvas Carryall . I love the way it looks . But Im not sure . Help please =)

For LV, I rather like the Damier for guys rather than the mono. Although not a fan of the monogramouflage line for myself, I think it would be quite cool for a guy. Although they may be over the $1000.

How about the Louis Vuitton Beaubourg... they're new and uni-sex. Retail Price... $835. They measure 14'' x 15" x 4.7"

you can find them, here: eLUXURY

i was going to suggest the beauborg in damier for you myself. it is a great size and it's easy to carry because it's a shoulder bag. i def don't think it's too feminine, i think the monogram canvas one is too girly. i went to look at the damier one for myself and i personally thought it was too masculine. and the price isn't that bad, it's less than a month's rent, haha.

I think a carryall would be way to big for school stuff. Plus, it's too luggagey. I like the Beaubourg for guys, it's not feminine at all.

The Naviglio is also a good bag, but not sure if it will be big enough for you.

I like the Beaubourg . However Im looking at Eluxury right now and i like the Damier Alma. But the beaubourg is more masculine especially in the damier .

^^^ITA Beauborg damier is the way to go... I think the Alma is a bit feminine, but that's just my opinion... if you want it go for it

Does the beaubourg have much space on the inside?

Here are some pics from an ebay auction which may give you a better idea of space. It's going for $750.

speaking from experience - you will be 1 out of the 100000000 gay boys with an LV bag at school. in fact, you may even mix up who's is who's. haha. it's true love!!

the best thing honestly was a cheap hand-painted tote bag. it held my portfolio books, my art supplies (which were always spilling/making a mess), everything i needed. if you're going for fashion design - you're working in a lot of design studios. the draping/pattern making courses aren't bad but once you get to the illustration classes and color design classes - there is paint ALL OVER the place. I seriously was happy i had my cheap ass tote because i didn't mind it getting messy.
