i personally think leather goods r worth their price. the dior nylon i own was originally $1150 but i bought it only cause it was down to $500 or else i wudnt have bought it.

Why on earth would you think it is a good idea to buy fakes? You can get authentic Juicy at TJ Maxx for really cheap. At least that way you won't have to feel guilty about anything.

I wouldn't pay more than $50 for something wildly trendy that would be totally out of style in a few months. If I really wanted the "fabulous today, dead tomorrow" colour/style I'd get a Walmart "inspired" bag (NOT the kind of fakes that pretend to be the real thing though, I don't believe in that). I could only carry that kind of thing on weekends anyway because I work in a conservative office.

As much as I love the IDEA of having a Louis Vuitton someday, I don't think I could bring myself to pay $700+ for a Speedy because they are so plain - I personally think the higher priced ones are better value because they have so much work/detail in them with the vachetta and hardware and I'm willing to wait until I can afford one of them - but I know I'm in the minority in not seeing the appeal of the iconic Speedy!

I also wouldn't pay more than $150 for a fabric/canvas bag unless it was LV, and I don't buy vinyl bags at any price anymore because I've had several that fell apart after a few weeks or even less.

I only have Coach made in China but I've had the chance to compare mine to friends' older bags that were made in the US - I'm satisfied with the quality for what I paid, but I definitely can see the difference (decline) in quality of leather and workmanship compare to the US-made ones.
