Default Are you an old-school or new-school bag lover?

So I have come to realize that I'm not really into the new designer bags. I never really liked the newer Balenciaga or Dior (ie: Saddle) bags. Even Marc Jacobs has let me down a few times (however...I'm loving the Turnlock styles).

All-in-all I'd consider myself an old-school bag lover. I like the traditional classic LV bags (in the traditional shapes) I crave the old Chanel bags. I desperately want a vintage LV trunk (maybe more for home decor than anything..).

I just can't get into the graffiti LV bags, the multi-color LV bags, the Dior Saddle bag, the Balenciaga motor bag. Maybe a little too "fresh" looking for me... haha. Like I really dislike the animal print/crazy quilting Coach bags, too loud!! But I love their pebbled leather bags.

    What type are you?

I would say i'm a little bit of both!

I adore vintage Chanel's and the LV icon bags (speedy, alma, noe) ...

but I'm a fan of the Multicolore line... exotic leathers in funky colors (such as Chanel has displayed in their latest bags)... and I love Balenciaga's Motor bags...

Although I do agree, that sometimes, designers do a little bit tooo much in order to be "different"... for example, that $42,000+ LV bag.... :yuck: or Marc Jacobs new leather beach tote with the fake pockets!!!

I guess I'm a fan of classic shapes and simple designs that are more likely to be "timeless."

That said, I do love the MBMJ Turnlocks, I love drooling of Hayden-Harnett, Kale and stuff that I would consider more new-school.

There are some new bag designs that are really cute and wonderful, but the more "eccentric" and "eclectic" designs don't really suit my tastes.

Susieq, I somewhat agree with you . Classic bags appeal more to me than "newer" styles. I also was never really able to get into some styles by Dior, one being the Saddle bag and other designer bags that were too trendy. However, I must say that I do like the MC collection by LV and I LOVE Balenciaga.

I've always liked the monogram canvas, mini lin, and damier collections by LV the most because they will never go out of style. I also love the classic flap bags by Chanel!!! I think it's just a better investment (for me anyways) to buy something that I can use 5 years later as opposed to getting something new and hot for the season that will be out by next year. So I guess I'd have to say that I'm MORE of an "old-school bags" type of girl. But I do LOVE some of the newer styles out

Classic bags appeal to me. I love LV MC and Damier and Chanel and Bbags.
