    Question Has anyone tried this?

I read a few threads on here about treating the vachetta leather on LV. I'm going to order the Azur Speedy next week and I really want the leather to stay light for as long as possible. Also, I want to protect the leather from dirt so an even patina will develop when the process takes place.
I'm thinking about purchasing "For Handles Only" by Lovin My Bags. But I also heard some good reviews on Shining Monkey and Appleguard. I'm just wondering which would be the best. But I'm leaning more towards FHO. So, has anyone tried this product?

I've used Lovin My Bags products before and they work pretty good. Your best bet would be to get a product that protects and prevents staining because even good cleaner cannot get everything out once its in there. Also, I'm not sure about the other two brands that you mentioned. I've never used them before. If you do consider them, just be sure that they are formulated for naked leathers and they won't cause darkening.

    ^^^
So "For Handles Only" would be a good product to use? Or would you recommend a different product from Lovin My Bags?
Shining Monkey is actually for cars, but I heard that people use it on their bags as well. But i don't like the idea of using some chemical that is specifically for cars on my precious LV...
    But thanks for the info!!!

Also, do you know if using Mr.Clean Magic Eraser works on cleaning dirt off of the vachetta? The handles on my Speedy have slightly oxidized and I'm wondering if this will be effective in removing dirt marks from them. Thanks!

The "For Handles Only" has worked pretty well for me. It doesn't stop the leather from darkening completely, but it slows down the process and the darkening is more even. If its a scuff, a magic eraser or even one of those white pencil erasers will lighten the scuff considerably. If its more like oils from you hand that has impregnated the leather though, it won't work.

Ok, so I bought the magic eraser and OMG, it worked wonders!!! The handles on my Speedy were starting to patina and were somewhat grey from dirt. So I used the eraser and now the handles and other leather trims are light again!!! They look as good as new! And I read somewhere that you need to condition the leather after using the eraser because it does dry it out a little. So I bought this stuff from walmart called Kiwi conditioner. I'm gonna try it out now and see what happens. And I actually woudn't mind if the condition darkens the handles a little. I just wanted to achieve more of an even patina and I think it's on it's way to that! I'll let you know how it turns out!!!

Ok, so I tried Kiwi leather lotion and it's awesome! I rubbed it on all of the leather with a light cloth and there are no stains, marks or greyness from the dirt like there were before. It looks good as new with a very slight but even patina. I'm VERY happy!!! But I think I'll get FHO for my Azur Speedy so the patina process slows down and is even. I just love the patina with the Monogram!
