    Default Shopping for my wife!

    Hello ladies!

I'm starting to look around for a nice bag for my wife, would like to spend sub 1500 but can take it to 2000 if necessary. She has a lot of bags but this would be the first in that price range. I believe this nicest one she has is a coral color Full, bowling style which I bought here in Florence, I think it cost around $400.

She is 30, petite, and we just had a baby! 7 months old... I have been told she does not want a mommy bag, something "normal", mid++ to large size. Definitely shoulder strap as bowling is too uncomfortable with the stroller baby bag etc...

I would like to buy new but would also be very interested in learning a but about the used buying process. Where to get the best deals, how to verify authenticity, etc...

I am very in to watches and of course know all the above when it comes to buying used and authenticity but how to go about this with bags?

    Thank you!!

Would she like a tote? The LV Totally or Neverfull would fall in your price range.

Saw the neverfull and loved it for her, then found out she prefers something that is fully closable!

Hi there and welcome to theBagForum. I agree, the Totally by Louis Vuitton would make a great gift. It has a zipper closure and it's very roomy.

I would look for trusted sellers that specialize in reselling used LV. There are some on ebay, plus there are websites like Yoogi's Closet that are good.

Thank you, found tradsy, interesting concept but the prices seem high for the age of some of the bags, saw an 06 going for 13% off msrp, mint condition but it's 8 years old! Does that site work well?

That isn't unusual for mint condition LV. It holds it's value really well. Or at least it used to before the recession. I think things have picked up again and people are willing to pay more for used items.

If your wife has appreciation for handbags, nesal, perhaps you should look into a brand that has a story behind their product- it would be a lot more fun to wear and she'll feel good every time she uses it. There are lots and lots of sustainable fashion brands out there that work with 3rd world countries to create high quality products, preserve cultures, provide jobs... Let me know if you need some ideas of where to shop.
