Designer “Trash Bags" for all Budgets: Baby Phat, bebe, Chanel
Why am I calling these totes "trash bags?" Well..... back when the Chanel Cabas tote first made its debut back in Fall of ’06, the new twist on the classic Chanel bag with its oversize unstructured shape and short chain hand-held straps resembled something like a trash bag. Well that was the black shiny patent version that looked a lot like a rubbish sack, not so much in the leather version, but I guess the name sort of latched on to this design.
Whatever your price range is, you to can get your hands on the super sized "trash bag" without breaking the bank.
> Baby Phat Synthetic Tote - Made from synthetic leather (plastic) and decorated with a lurex stitched BP at center front with decorative studded trim. Additional features include the Signature cat dangling logo charm, the dual chain link straps and the single magnetic top-snap closure that pops open to reveal the fully lined satiny soft interior with back wall zip pocket. Dimensions: 19" wide x 10" high x 3" deep. Handle drop: 10". This Baby Phat large tote is the cheapest of the bunch with its $75 price tag.
> bebe Circle Icon Shrunken Leather Tote - The Shrunken leather tote with the embossed circle icon design and golden chain handles and decorated with a rhinestone embellished signature charm tassel. Dimensions: 11.5". Height: 11". Width: 4". This bebe bag also falls in the lower end price range - $239
> Chanel Cabas Tote – Large CC logo Stitched spacious Chanel handbag with the double cc logo Snap button closure that opens to show off the spacious interior with a small zipped pocket with Chanel embossed zipper and an additional cell phone pocket with a small pocket. This bag also comes with detachable pouch with zip top closure. You can catch the Chanel Cabas bags with current bids anywhere from $202 to $2,650.
Obviously the Baby Phat and bebe totes are inspired off of the Chanel Cabas “Garbage Bag”, but would you sport one of these cheaper copied bags?
