What is your brand of choice for leather cleaners and protectors?... I know in the USA their is a huge following for Apple Brand and Meltonian, but they dont see, to appear as much over here.

Leather cleaners are difficult because the manufacturer doesnt want to make them so strong that you can damager your bag, so they urr on the side of caution and deliver a watered down version of the product, which in many cases is very poor quality. there are several good ones in Europe, but the two i prefer are Pelle Care from Australia and THBS Dermo Cleanse from the UK. I know the chemist that worked on the THBS project and they have some good stuff.

With regards to leather honey, i have never heard of them so i just checked them out online. It looks like it has a high oil/wax content which is whats gives it the shine and suppleness, but traditional conditioners are no longer required to keep modern waterbased leathers supple now. When the tanneries changed from using solvent finishes to waterbased finishes, all the usual care products became redundant. All you need to use now is a good waterbased cleaner and a protector with an oil inhibitor and UV filter in them, and this will keep your bag in perfect condition with a regular care program.

In the USA there is a company called ADV leather who manufacture their own products. They have an awesome cleaner and protector. try them if you are in the US or THBS dermo cleanse if your in the UK.
