I don't recall ever having to weigh my carry-on. It just had to fit the size restrictions.

There isn't a weight limit for carry-on bags. If you check a bag that is the first thing that you do, and you don't want to go over, even 1 pound will cost you

there must be a weight limit for carry-on bags but they don't really weight them unless they look super heavy or big..

Unless you're carrying bricks, I don't think they care. It's just the size that matters.

I agree. However, on international flights they do check at random and if it is over a certain weight, they charge an arm and a leg!

Every airline is slightly different in their carry-on weight limits. It is typically more strictly enforced for international flights then domestic ones.

In my experience I've never had a carry-on questioned if it fit size restrictions.
