    Default dirty. dirty. bags.

so i just realized something... all of my white and light colored bags are in immaculate condition, however when it comes to my (rarely worn) LV or MJ bags, etc they just get so dirty. (!) . .
pen marks (how do you get rid of those?)
stains from restaurant floors (do you guys use the purse pal thingy.. like a hook?).

hum, maybe since i know how dirty a white / light colored bag can get with out special care, i subconsciously care for them more.

I am seriously an anal freak when it comes to my bags! I NEVER set my bags on the floor anywhere. Yes, I always carry a purse hook in my bag and use it in restaurants, etc. If I am going somewhere where I know there will be nowhere but the floor to put my bag (i.e., my hair salon) then I will not take a nice bag. Also, I always carry a tightly folded up plastic Target bag in my bag (I just keep it in my purseket) to use in case of an emergency - torrential downpour, or if I DO HAVE to put my bag on the floor, I can put it inside the plastic bag to protect it. I may go a little overboard, but that's how I keep my bags looking nice!

Hey, Viva. I bought my hooks off of Ebay. Search for "purse hook" and a bunch will come up. They are great!

Jen - I have a white Coach bag and it got really dirty. You know what I used to get the dirt out and a somewhat light pen mark? A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It worked like a charm. Now keep in mind that you aren't supposed to use that thing on leather (try a small unnoticeable spot first!)

Guys! Just make sure you try the Mr. Clean thingie on a small unnoticeable spot first! I would die if it ruined your bags. My Coach turned out great - it didn't seem to hurt the leather, but just for caution's sake....

I'm still afraid of the hook...because you hook it to the table you are eating at...and what if your drink spills or food??? I'd die!!!

I usually place my bag on a chair next to me and lay out napkins for it to lay on!!!

Chair next to me.... and if no chair is available, then I put it on my lap... although it's very uncomfortable!

If the strap is long enough... I hang it on my knee. LOL! But I will put it in a chair if there's one next to me. I usually avoid white bags in general though... they are just so hard to keep clean!

Pen marks are quite difficult to remove but I read on an article before that hair spray would work if the mark is relatively fresh..... I haven't tried this myself though so I am sorry that I don't know the right way to do this...

BTW, here is some cleaning tips from a website that you can send your bags in for cleaning. Tips and Tricks

    Hope this helps

I live in Southern California and a friend of mine told me about Margaret's Cleaner. They apparently do miracles for your handbags.
