Thread: Do you buy unbranded bags?

I saw that almost everyone and every post here are talking about brand bags, i should admit that Herme, LV, Gucci bags are really chic, but personally i would not spend so much money on a bag, so i usually buy unbranded bags and purses. I'm into the ethnic look. No matter it is still in vogue or not.

Well, for me i like branded bags because 100% sure of the quality and it will last.......I also love branded bags but its ok to have unbranded bags but make it sure of the quality.

I play on both sides of the fence when it comes to buying branded and unbranded bags.....But to tell you the truth I enjoy indie and handmade bags more. I recently sold all my Chanels because I was so paranoid when wearing them. I have only purchased three to date and I only wore them once or not at all. I live in a big city and sometimes take public transport. I have ruined two expensive pants due to hanging nails on seats. I also have to worry about the occasional coffee spiller or stuck gum. I just won’t run the risk of ruining my “investment” like this. Thinking about it now I am more carefree carrying unbranded bags, especially when they are unique and were a great deal. I dont like feeling like Frodo Baggins when carrying a designer bag.

also, larger brands have better customer service when it comes to damages. lv, chanel, and gucci have amazing customer service when it comes to repairs. they make your bag look like new again!

I feel for you OP, for the unbranded bags. I don't have too much money to go around so I do buy unbranded bags when I need them. I prefer to call myself more a voyeur of designer bags, although I'm willing to put some investment into one since I've fallen in love with so many. Once I start working full time I'll definitely invest in plenty of designer bags and donate the ones I use now to a charity. They all work quite fine, I've had some for years with no real issues. But putting money into owning something of high quality and beauty is something I can't fault anyone for doing.

Yeah I do actually, but its also because I am a student so in general I cannot afford as many bags as people who are working. I have a couple of designer brands but also middle range bags and unbranded bags from vintage markets.

I am on a tight budget, so I've gotten wonderful bags at thrift shops. I have a couple of leather Tignanellos with sturdy enough leather that held up to being put in the delicate cycle of the washing machine. They went from sad to very pretty!! I have a few Fossils that are nice, as well as tons of SAK bags (also hold up well in the wash !) I love Coach, especially the vintage ones.

Definitely! As much as I love branded bags, I can't help but see really good and beautiful bags which are not that of well-known designers. In fact, most of these non-branded bags are even of great quality. I know of some bags which are made from indigenous materials and are sold at affordable prices. I don't limit myself to designer-labeled bags, as long as it catches my eye and the quality is great, I'm up for it! :)
