    Grin Handbags in movies

The classic stereotypical scene in movies and on TV is for a mugger to grab a woman's handbag, run down the street with it, take the cash and credit cards from it, and ditch the bag in the nearest trash can.
With Chanel bags averaging $800 and often going as high as $3000, muggers should throw away the credit cards which could trace the criminal to the victim, and instead just keep the bag!

What's the difference between an $80 bag and a $3000 bag? Simple $2920

The first thought that came to mind was the Devil Wears Prada. I still love that movie.
If love is the answer, what is the question?

I've always wondered about that too... why wouldn't a thief just take the whole bag anyway? I mean, it'd be worth their time to at least take it and see if it was worth anything, if they are going to rob people. Good point about tracking the cards! haha

I didn't see the move "The Devil Wears Prada". What goes on with a handbag in that movie?
