Default Black smudges on a bag

So I got this bag (NWT) last week and it has black smudges on it. It almost looks like newspaper print from someone's hands. I tried using Apple on it and it did nothing. Anyone else have this issue and luck with getting the smudges off? The seller has been really cool about it and is sending me a product called Lovin' my bags to see if that will work.

What kind of material is it? I mean, pebble leather, patent, etc..

Someone once suggested to me to go to a Dry Cleaner that specialises in
cleaning leather clothes. I never tried this option, so I'm not sure if it will help.

I don't think the spots are dark enough to show up. It's an RM Mac in orange leather. I love it!

They seem very light. Have you tried like a small amount of mild dish detergent on a cloth soaked with water? That might help.
Also I would try those "Wet Ones" antibacterial wipes. They work pretty good.

You know, I thought about that when I saw the back of the bag for the first time, because it does look like its throughout the back. But the side is very definitely smudges of some kind. And then there were two drops of something on the side too - but those came out with the Apple cleaner.
I love the bag and have no intention of returning it, but I just know that's going to drive me crazy.

I haven't. The Wet ones make me nervous. I wore my grey Kooba out last week and my daughter got ketchup on it. I used a wet one to try and get the ketchup off, without any luck. I then brought the bag home and attempted to use Apple cleaner on it and the Apple cleaner made a huge stain on the back.

Hmm...I asked that because my old persimmon MAB and my MAC have a little bit of black in it...but it is soo small, you can barely notice.

It is pretty light, I think it is in the leather. I have seen that before.
I hope if it's not, it comes off!

I was looking at it and it seems that the smudges aren't dark enough to be seen on the camera. Try to test a bit of wax if it comes off. I tried this before, it usually works IF the smudges are not that bad.
smile and everything's going to be way better. :D

Do you have an old handbag you could practice on? Because I wonder if a magic eraser (Mr. Clean) would work? I would want to try it out on old leather to make sure it doesn't screw up the color.
