You made a good point when you said "stays on my shoulder." I've had quite a few bags with longer handles that slide right off- pretty irritating . If I wear them across my torso, they tend to sway back and forth hitting against my leg when I walk fast .

It's got one of those coat-style zippers that you have to use two hands to thread, so I don't often bother. I should probably look at one of those purses to go.

I was just thinking about that purse-to-go for you until you mentioned it in the last sentence.

If I could design the perfect bag, it would be:

solid black leather (non-patent) for increased durability
significant looking hardware but light weight
    shoulder strap (convertible bag)
pretty colorful floral lining in cotton twill or brushed cotton
generous inner pockets and compartments (so things don’t get lost and can stay organized; some bags are like black holes)
interior side pocket for a small bottled drink to prevent spills
two outer pockets for keys and umbrella, etc.
easy to access (prefer a main zipper that opens smoothly)
medium to large size (the sad reality that I tend to tote lots of stuff)
    more vertical than horizontal space

Am I describing something you’ve seen or admire? I know most of you love the B-Bags but what other ones can you think of (I'd like to compare before I commit). Haha, sounds like I'm talking about a guy =)).

I love my LV's. The secret for me is NEVER a hand held. Dont get me wrong, I like the looks of the handheld, however oils, dirt from your hands can discolor the hand area more, leading to an dirty and older looking bag. I normally keep about 3 bags and sell one when I buy a new one. I noticed I do VERY well reselling my old bags, and I believe because the patina is the same everywhere. Also, I try to choose bags with little or no leather around the bottom...same reasons. I like slightly wider on bottom and more narrow on top and longer....why, Im bad at latching close and dont like zippers. My wallet, checkbook, Pouche and agenda are safe! My favorites....Galleria PM, Ariella Muti, Vertical Batignolles.
