Question Avelle (bag borrow, or steal) Questions

Hi TBFers. I never usually go on Bag Borrow or Steal aka Avelle, but I'm going to start going on now. I have a few quesitons about it. If I borrow a bag for a week, or month, and then I want to steal it, do you know how much more it would cost? Is there a rate? Please fill me in, thanks!

When you borrow a bag & you want it...you have to contact Avelle if you want to buy it.

Then, they will tell you IF you can buy it (you can't always buy it, FYI) and they will review which bag(s) you are borrowing and give you a price based on: brand, how rare it is, ect.

You can always buy a bag from their "Outlet".

If you are interested in buying as opposed to renting, I would just buy from the outlet. I don't their "steal it" prices are much different from the outlet prices.

I was curious about that myself. They do have some great outlet deals at times.

I think it's a good idea if you want to try a bag before you buy it, or if you need a bag for a special occasion but don't want to buy it. Have never used it myself though.

I've only bought from their outlet. Both times I had some minor issues e.g. small inner pocket of one needed a one inch re-stitching and the second bag had white residue on the exterior which was cleaning solution left-over from their "bag spa" as per Avelle SR. I called and complained the second time. At least they were responsive but I'm not really impressed.

Otherwise the bags were definitely gently used (not old looking).

    Dear Jacqueline,

I'm delighted to hear you are considering using our service to rent and/or purchase a handbag! Our “Steal-It Prices” (price to buy a rental item) are calculated based on several factors. We take into account the amount you have paid to rent the item, and weigh it against several other things such as demand, availability, age, condition, etc. We plug all of these into an “algorithm” and it pops out a real-time purchase quote! Because these quotes are quoted on an individual basis for each customer, we are unable to tell you what it would be until you have received the item.

Because of how our “Steal-It” prices are calculated, some items can be “stolen” at a hefty discount off retail prices, while other may be very close to the retail price.

However, this is changing very soon. In the very near future, 70% of your rental payments will be applied as “equity” towards your purchase. Look for updated info on this in the next week!

With designer and couture handbag prices as high as they are, it can be great to “try before you buy!”

Additionally, I definitely recommend visiting our “Sale” section, where we offer new and gently used items at prices up to 80% off retail! As your name indicated you are a Coach-loving-girl, I thought I would let you know that we do tend to have Coach items in the outlet, but hurry, as you are not alone, and they sell out quick!

I can not get those people to help me recover my password, otherwise I'd try to say something positive. I did once try to steal an LV bag I rented and it wasn't available to "steal".

Has anyone notice how the nice bags are always sold out? Is it me that I am to slow? I have been checking the outlet everyday and I always see bags that I didnt see the day before already sold out. And then I see how the price decrease even tho they are sold out? What's up with that?
