    Question Renting handbags?

hi guys, i'm new to the forum (!!!) and am working on term paper and was looking for some personal opinions to a specific question i had for everyone.

any and all feedback would greatly appreciated!

how do you guys feel about renting designer purses instead of purchasing them? does it lose all meaning for you or are you ambivalent? does it mean more to you to actually own the purse (even if it means saving up for a while ) ?

    thank you in advance!

on a last PS. there are some beautiful bags here!

Thank you and welcome to the forum!

Personally I would rather purchase a handbag than rent one. I save b'day & Christmas money and sell bags to purchase new ones, that way I can keep them as long as I like with no fees!

    Good luck!

Renting would be alright if the rental fees weren't totally outrageous. Otherwise, you might as well buy the bag. I guess if you were going to a really super special event (e.g. award ceremony or something) and you wanted to have a super cool bag to wear that you couldn't possibly afford, then I think it might be a fun idea.

I am not a fan of renting handbags & I never was. For the price you pay for fees & a membership, you can buy yourself great bags. I guess it's a good idea for people who get really, really sick of the same bag? I never saw the point in it myself. If I like a bag I buy it & I will wear it over & over!!

    Welcome!

I have rented bags before. I joined for two months just to try out bags that I considered buying. I didn't enjoy using the rented bags cause I always worry that I would ruin it and would have to pay for repairs etc. For some reason, I also felt like I'm faking it. I prefer to own my bags. But I have to say that it's great if you're test driving bags.

I've thought about doing it in the past. I'm glad I didn't. Because once the bag is gone, you have nothing to show for the money you spent.

I was a member for about 3 months, it was difficult to get the bags I really wanted to try, and I got tired of the fees.
I am trying to get my password from them so I can at least see what they sell in the outlet but boy, are they ever unhelpful!

I think it would be good for a special occasion like a black tie event if that's not something you normally do. Otherwise, it's kind of expensive to rent a bag. You could put your rent money back for several weeks and just buy the bag you want.

I've thought about renting hand bags before but when looking into it I thought that the fees were awful. What I would have spent renting I could buy and own my handbags. I would rather save up for the bag I want.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

I don't know about renting bags. I think that bags are too personal for that. But I generally don't like renting stuff. Even renting bowling shoes makes me uneasy. lol
