Default Please help! How to clean a cream leather bag??

    Hi,

6 months ago I bought my first (and only) bag - a cream Marc by Marc Jacobs that I am in love with. I've since used it almost every day and while I've tried to be extra careful with it, it has horrible darker marks under the shoulder straps and what appears to be dirt (like pollution or somethign) marks on the front.

I took it to a leather cleaner who said she'd charge $300 to clean it which seems extreme, but I would really love to clean this bag and get it looking a lot better (it unfortunately looks really bad now being so dirty). I never treated it before I started wearing it.

Does anyone know how to clean a cream leather bag? It's exactly this color/ a variation of this Marc by Marc Jacobs - Totally Turnlock Quinn Tote on eluxury . com

There have been a few threads on this. The following links are questions on cleaning LV vachetta, but I think it would apply to a cream handbag too. I had a white Dior Gaucho previously which I cleaned with a normal white eraser that you buy from a stationery store. I found that it erased dirt marks really effectively. I also carried the eraser in my bag and just erased dirt marks as I found them. Good luck!

What products do you use to clean your bag?
