The placing of the handles is totally off, and this bag should have a zipper, and not be an "open" tote!

I bought this Gucci Messenger Bag/Briefcase at a garage sale in a high end neighborhood. The man I bought it from said that it was his fathers who passed away and he thought it was approx 20 years old. He assured me it was real. It's pretty beat up and some of the buttons are broken. I'm thinking it's not real but it seems to be made very well, so I'm not sure. There are no serial numbers or tags inside. I hope someone can help me figure this out. Thank you.

To make a long story short i purchased a box of purses at a private auction and there was quite a few gucci purses in the box. Ive posted the same pics on other purse forms but have recieved no answers. I plan on selling the purses because i do not want them but before i do i would like to know wether they are real or fake so i dont mess over any potential buyers.
