While looking through my moms closet I came upon this bag. It was bought in the mid 80's from Gucci but the price is unknown. She let me have it with the condition that I wont sell it ever on ebay!! I just want to know if anyone has even seen the likes of it, how much you think its worth and so on. Personally this bag is too small for me and would love to sell it for a few new LVs but I would never break my mothers heart!!!
The wraparound looks like Snakeskin and the bag itself looks like brass. It has a mirror inside which is cool.
It's called a minaudiere. There is one on ebay right now... but its different than yours. It is sterling silver with 24k gold over it... so naturally they want a lot for it. The starting bid is $7500 and no one has bid on it yet. I'm assuming its not going to sell for that price. My guess is that yours is probably only worth a few hundred dollars... but I'm no expert on vintage bags.
