CALLING ALL EXPERTS!! How do I clean a suede lining?
I need your help, ladies. I did a search and couldn't find this topic. I bought a used bag and it turns out the bag is not in as good condition as I was led to believe (shocking, right?). I even had a Q&A session with the seller over the phone about the "signs of wear" in the linging, and was told it was not dirty or soiled Anyway, the light pink suede lining is pretty dirty and I have no idea how to clean suede (never had to before)
I think I can figure out how to deal with most of the blemishes on the exterior leather, although I see some faint water marks that I also don't know how to handle :--any advice on this? I could live with the leather blemishes and water marks if there's no remedy, but I have got to clean that suede. I suppose you all have your ways to clean bags, and I hope you can share them with me so that I can save this otherwise beautiful bag. Thanks in advance!! |

Can you take one? So we know what you're talking about. You should try and get your money back if you're that unhappy with it. You can buy suede cleaner. They have it at major shoe stores. You can even buy Ugg cleaner, that would work since it's also suede.

Yeah, I bought a suede & nubuck cleaner earlies. I haven't used it yet cause I wanted to get second opinions. Just how to do an overall clean of a suede lining. I'm sorry, but I can't take a photo cause I don't have a digital camera and my cell doesn't have a flash--yes, I'm still living in prehistoric times!!

Haha don't worry my cell doesn't have a flash either.
Just read the directions on the bottle or packaging. It really can't make it that much more worse (if you follow the directions). So it's worth a try. Or you can try and get your money back if you're that unhappy with it.

Thanks. Well, the suede is on the inside, so I just want to clean it, no need for perfection. But since it's the lining of the bag, it's thin vs the thicker suede on exterior of bags. Because I have zero experience with suede, I didn't want to spray this thing I bought and later, after the lining disintegrates, find out that I wasn't supposed to do that, but that instead I was supposed to spit on it three times, use baking soda and a feather, sprinkle with salt, and do some chanting around a bonfire under a full moon with the bag around my neck .
