I don't mean to be a pot-stirrer, but has anyone bought a super expensive bag that wasn't worth its value? For me, it'd have to be the PVC (coated-canvas) Burberry bags. I used to own one, and I think it will be my last. After a month of gentle use, the leather handles started creasing/crazing at the seams!

The PVC fabric is also not as durable as LV...I"ve been told that Burberry wears poorly, although I wish I knew that sooner. Even my Dooney & Bourke bag held better than the Burberry...and the Dooney was way cheaper, too!

Anyone else?

wow, my burberry bags have always held up well and they have had more consistent use than some of my LV.

can't you like return it or have it fixed with burberry? I mean for a bag that expensive wouldn't they have a sort of warranty?

This was a while ago...I don't have the bag, anymore.

In any case, I always try to do research on certain brands (which is why I avoid certain brands based on feedback)...in some sense, I think most bags are overpriced and you do pay for the name, but I know that there has to be quality expected. I think most designers have their flaws, sadly...however, lines that have held up consistently well for me have been Louis Vuitton and Prada Nylon (I haven't tried Prada Leather, yet, so don't call me on that!).

Yeah, I've washed my Prada nylon (in a laundry bag) in the washing machine. And it came out fine. I find my 5 year old black Gucci canvas have held up really well too and it's been through a lot.

guess what, i feel your pain, did you know that burberry is now made in china, next time you are in the burberry boutique ask them about this, they have been having alot of problems recently with quality control, because they are now made in china, hence your problem.

I only own one Burberry piece... a long zip wallet... as of now, i've had no problems with it... and my piece was made in Italy.
