Help me choose a Summer beach bag! - Designer Handbag & Purse Chat.. The Bag Forum

Hey ladies - so this Summer I will be back home a lot (Hamptons/Long Island) to be with the family and go boating and also my girlfriends from back home have planned us a vacation for 5 days in Virginia Beach. We have a beautiful hotel right on the ocean. Since I live in Vermont now, I like to make the most of my beach summers. I need to get a great beach bag that will take a beating - not be so expensive that I will be upset if it does get dirty (under $100) - and needs to look decent with my new bikini.

Okay so first off...this is what my new Vitamin A bikini looks like:

Now...while I don't want to match, I also don't want to have a crazy color bag that looks ridiculous. I need a bag that can go with a lot of different looks because I usually go from boat-to-beach-to-restaurant-to-party. Here's what I have been scoping out:

MbyMJ Tote (between $50-60 on eBay):

Abercrombie & Fitch Tote ($69.50):

Beau Soleil ($46.00):

Oooh the MJ one is so cute! It reminds me of an old sack or something, like someone took it and made it into a bag.

I like the Abercrombie one, it's casual. I also like the Beau Soleil tote, btw, it's ON SALE for only $27.00 at saksfifthavenue.com!

I like the MJ tote, but I'm leaning more with the Beau Soleil, mainly because I want one for myself!!!

$368 for wicker? nah...i personally don't like wicker bags anyway. but thanks for the suggestion!! I think I might can the MbyMJ bag ... it's too branded and overpriced for what it was at retail

What about LL Bean's Boat and Tote? It is very New England/Nautical and you can monogram it! I love those totes, they last forever!
