Re: Advice please..
hmm..i think you should get more medical advise before you really decide on a surgery, and meanwhile, do research see which doctor does the best.
Marissa, if the surgery will helps you, you just have to do it. Don't be afraid, your uncle survived it and you will too. Side effect from medicine is really bad...

Re: Advice please..
Marissa, I am so sorry this happened to you. You made the right decision getting a new doctor. I would wait and see what the doctor says before you get worried about surgery. If you're sick, you don't need to add stress by worrying.
I know you mentioned your uncle got better by building his immune system, well taking echinacea supplements helps. Feel better!!

Wow, I'm so sorry, Marissa! Wow.. some people.. If your second doctor is a jerk, too, is there a third you can try instead? Definitely get another opinion before going through with surgery.

Re: Advice please..
aww, marissa, i'm sorry that both doctors were such jerks to you.

my friend got diagnosed with graves disease two years ago and she's a lot better now, do you mind telling what medication you're on right now? and if you have any allergies to anything?

Re: Advice please..
OMG Marissa I'm sorry you had to go through that... I would suggest to manage your hives first with your new doctor and organize your care with him... And then, when everything with you health is all better, file a negligence suit against your old doctor... It's sad how there are medical practitioners like this whom we put our faith on, he does not deserve his license at the least... I hope everything works out for you Marissa

Re: Advice please..
oh good grief!!!!! Marissa i am so sorry to hear about this! i can't believe the nerve of some DOCTORS who are supposed to "first do no harm" blahblahblah! that being said, there are lots of articles about negligent doctors who shouldn't be practicing.
anyway yeah, first things first, take care of yourself -- find that new doctor (which i think you did -- you should definitely check to see if there are any places that can recommend specialists though, like a city magazine that ranks doctors?) and get rid of that allergic reaction. then complain about your previous doc to the state's medical board like others said.
the doctor had NO right to blast you like that especially after he didn't even properly take care of you. i wouldn't take his opinion up front at all. i can't even believe he would just outright say "you can do this or that, but if you do #2 you will get cancer". WTH?
i hope you feel better soon. i have the opposite problem with my thyroid (Hashimoto's) and it is a biatch to take my meds every day but the right doctor will find the right solution for you.Wishlist: get out of debt
so totally :banned2:

Re: Advice please..
I'm depressed... I think I need to see a shrink. I feel horrible... the doctor called and told me surgery or the radiation. I'm terrified of going under a knife... and radiation causes cancer. I feel like taking a gun to my head. So many bad things have happened this year.. I don't get it. I feel like I'm cursed. I've been crying non stop for almost 24 hours... this is a horrible feeling. Oh and surgery.. ruins my vocal cords. So no more singing if I decide surgery.. and with radiation I have to beware that there is a chance I'll get bladder cancer. Depressed...

 Marissa, I am so sorry you're feeling this way. I know it's hard and I have no idea what you're going through, but I hope you cheer up! If you think speaking to someone will help, then go for it. At this point, it couldn't hurt. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Re: Advice please..
Marissa,
even the surgery ruins you vocal cords, i'm sure the sounds and singing from your mouth will still be the prettiest voice ever. Calm down, you have your family, friends and everyone with you, surgery is not that scary, you wont see the process. Face your fear.
take care, dear.Wish List
