I've used the Green Tea before I got pregnant. I like it.

My body's metabolism is very slow and I need a lil help! LOL I don't exercise that often (I know, BAD!). so a lil help is what I need and the Green Tea does it.

Have you ever tried a Kelp supplement? It supports the thyroid, which helps support your metabolism. It's not a diet pill but a vitamin, you might try it, it's all natural.

(I'm kind of a supplement junkie incase you were wondering )

I am a certified fitness instructor. I have been one for 10 years. I have been to several seminars regarding general nutrition. I teach 3-4 classes a week and sub regularly for two fitness clubs in my city. I am also a proud size 14 (American )(technically plus sized). I eat fairly healthy, don't drink alcohol , don't smoke, sleep 8 hours a day, and excercise about 6-8 hours a week. THERE is no magic pill that will make weight go away and I do not suggest any type of DIET PILLS. The best way to shed weight is to eat right , excercise , and keep your stress LEVEL down. DIET PILLS that are stimulants can cause death if you have a heart issue.

1000 calories seems way too little . I believe the American Medical society stresses a minimum of 1200 calories for a woman. Eating too little calories will make you lose weight but will mess up your metabolism big time. I know of several colleagues who went on really low calorie diets . They lost a huge amount of weight in a short time , but a year or two later , put on the weight again plus even more !!!

A year ago I hired a nutritionist who took my RBR (resting metabolic rate). For me to maintain my weight I need to eat 1900 calories a day . For me to lose weight I should eat about 1500 calories a day. I highly suggest this test. It is somewhat costly , but it can help .

I also suggest buying a heart rate monitor (with a calorie feature) .
When I work out , it lets me know exactly how many calories I burned and definitely gives me the boost I need to keep my heart rate up.

I also suggest writing down everything one eats.
This has helped me !!!

I also suggest saying FORGET YOU to most of the AMERICAN MEDIA.
Actresses , models, and singers have so much $$$$ to spend on trainers, nutritionists etc. Women should be confident and sexy no matter what their size !!

I have always been a bit thicker . AND I have always been confident and sure of myself.
I hold a Master's Degree , was a former champion competitive skater, have a good career, always have had boyfriends (now a wonderful fiancee' ) and as I have stated before -- I am a certified fitness instructor who has been told that I am a WONDERFUL EXAMPLE and ROLE MODEL to teenagers/women that you don't have to be super skinny to be FIT.

I think it is great that you care about yourself , but please do be careful !!!

Hey everyone...I just wanted to share my experience with diet pills...Since I was about 15 yrs old I've taken many types of Diet Pills and none of them make you lose weight...some of them made me full...but then i'd eat a lot on days i didn't take it.....Last October DH banned me from buying them because I was "cranky" when i forgot to take my pill or I ran out..But he did buy me One A Day~Energy...and I love it...It gives me the energy I need and kinda controls my appetite...best of all...it's Non Habit forming...

My mom bought me this chinese tea, it's not green tea, but I haven't even opened it..I just don't like tea! But I have started a diet about a week ago because right now, I am the biggest I've ever been...It's like everytime I lose 40-50lbs. I've gotten pregnant (twice)..But not anymore...I'm hoping to lose the weight and NOT get pregnant...

...so...if anyone has anymore advice let me know...ooooh yah.and i've started back on my 10 minute trainer...the same trainer from P90X...and it's great...I do 2-10 min workouts right now and diet..i'll pick it up later again...and I know someone who actually works for the Firm and she said that the women on the commercials are not actresses...I kinda believed her because when i watch the commercials, it seems so real..which is rare...I'm not trying to sell anything for them, just thought this could help

Can I add my 2 cents? Thumbs down to pills! Also, just to share, I tried Nutri System Advanced earlier this year and was in bed for 2 weeks severely ill thanks to the extreme additives and preservatives, fake sweetners.

Can I suggest a VERY frank and funny book? "Skinny Bitch", definately has some great advice and exposes why so many of our processed foods are making us fat and sick.

I don't think that diet pills are a good idea either, just watch what you eat, your calorie intake and exercise. The hardest part of exercising is getting into the routine and making time for it but eventually you will look forward to it and love the way you feel after a good workout.

I had a really weird post up here and I just deleted it.. I don't think the technique would apply to anyone but me.

i might get *shot* for saying this but im actually FOR diet pills..

IF, and only IF they WORK. if its not working for you, then try something else, move ur butt!

You just have to be smart, know your limit,
NEVER overdose! eating 3 pills a day instead of the recommended 1 pill definately is not on and will not make you lose weight faster!
If your sensible and do the right thing, i think it could really help people
get that head start and motivation they need..

okey im saying all of this because I AM in fact taking diet pills, haha
and i just want to say, i know myself, i am sensible, and i know my limit, if it's not working.. i just move back to trying to exercise and eat healthy..

but i will NEVER think that "god wanted me to be fat" that's just a fat persons excuse..! i just want to be healthy and wear nice clothes :)

So GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! and take care of urself! :)

I see there are many PRO pill people and many CON pill people --

If you are pro or con -- STILL the best thing you can do for your body is MOVE.
It can be walking , running, biking , dancing , aerobics etc. etc.

As a certified group fitness instructor I suggest finding something that you ENJOY to do --
Many of my class participants enjoy the classes I teach and look forward to working out when I teach. The step class that is after my cycling class is often full too -- They love step and love the step instructor --

besides losing weight / maintaining your figure-- regular excercise
adds positive years to your life and makes your immune system healthier !!

So ladies -- get moving (if you aren't ) and if you are -- keep it up !!!
