Okay girls, I need your help. I've been thinking lately that maybe I need an F+C bag for my birthday (a gift from myself, of course). I have 2 months yet to go, but I talked to someone at Von Maur about getting me an F+C bag. I know that the clutch is on my wishlist, but I'm wondering if maybe the mini city would be a better size for me. The clutch measures 17.5" long and 12" high, whereas the mini city measures 12.5" long and 10" high. I think the mini city would be more my size, don't you?
Anyway, the person at Von Maur said that they could get me the mini city in platinum, glazed purple, or expresso. But they also said they might be able to special order another color if I wanted them to. What do you girls think? Clutch or mini city? What color?

Did you try on the Mini City? I found it to be a bit awkward for me to carry by hand. It looked fine folded over using the shoulder strap. Personally I think you would love the Clutch. You can carry it 3 different ways. Go to Lunaboston.com and click on all of the different pics in the upper right for reference. That is what I did and it really helped me.

I know it would be easier to get it from a department store, but you can find a cheaper one online (if saving money on it is of any importance). Plus, online you can get any color they have. I like the mini city , but I also like big bags so I'm biased :)

Actually, the Mini City seems to be sold out almost everywhere online or on backorder (unless you want black or brown). The prices the quoted me at Von Maur are actually cheaper than what Luna Boston has on their website. It's $384 for the Mini City if I buy it from Von Maur.

Zombs - No, I haven't actually tried on the Mini City since they did not have them at my local store.

My local VM had them (mini city) in the metallic colors (fuchsia, platinum and Glitter/gold) on Saturday. They can send it to your local store for you.
Our store didn't have any of the Clutches.

^^^ Yeah, I assumed that they would be getting the bag from another store unless it was something they had to special order.

So you like the glazed purple? I wonder if its the deep purple or the violet (they didn't specify, but maybe they didn't know if came in more than one shade). Glazed means it would be kinda patent but crinkly, right? I wonder if I would like the soft leather better. Hmm...

Gosh, this is so hard when you don't have them right in front of you to compare, ya know?

Oh I know! I was the same way. I really like the glazed, crinkly leather but I also love the smooshiness (I know, not a word) of my black clutch. I was checking them out on Saturday and they also had a Mid City in glazed ruby.
Have you felt the glazed versus the soft leather? The soft leather is a little thicker than the glazed, which is pretty thin. I really like the bold colors in the glazed leather.
I think the purple would be TDF!
I think it was Jess maybe that posted the glazed purple somewhere?

^^^ Yes, that's the color I like. But there is also a deep purple that almost looks black. I don't know which one it is.

So since I had wanted the Fuchsia in the City Clutch like Jess, should I ask them if they can get the Mini City in Fuchsia?

If that is the bag you want then have them get it in for you. I know there was one (Fuchsia) at my VM on Saturday. Do you have to pay for it first, or can they get in for you to try out? If they will order them for you then I would have them get the Fuchsia and the Glazed purple so you can see IRL the one you like best.
I would love to see the purple IRL!!!

Get the Mini City for sure... as for the color, the purple sounds great!!! Especially for fall!

I like how the City clutch looks better than the mini city. I do like the mini though, I think you'd like that one better than the clutch since you love smaller bags!
