Foley and Corinna Plated Bag

Over the years, Foley + Corinna has managed to come up with some very unique handbag designs. I’m not talking about the well-known City Tote, as this style has practically become a household name. No, I’m talking about the interesting-looking styles that seem to pop up with each new collection. And one that caught my eye this season was the Foley + Corinna Plated Hobo you see pictured here!
This geometric hobo is round and flat, which sort of reminds me of a flying saucer. What really grabbed my attention though was the interesting use of plates to create an asymmetrical pattern around the bag’s perimeter. Yes, that’s right, plates. If you look closely, you will see that the large rectangles are actually many plates lined up side by side. Breaking up the pattern here and there are some flat, button-like studs.

I think the black looks better than the gunmetal.

Re: Foley and Corinna Plated Bag
I do like the black best but this is one I would have to see IRL. The pic makes the shape look odd.

Re: Foley and Corinna Plated Bag
Looks a little outer space to me
, like the Star trek women might have carried this,
well if they carried handbags

Re: Foley and Corinna Plated Bag
Z, that's what I was thinking too about the shape. It looks really interesting to me, so much different than all their other bags. But I wonder how it fits when worn. Like is it slouchy or stiff?

Re: Foley and Corinna Plated Bag
Another bloggers perspective of the Plated Hobo..
Foley + Corinna makes some beautiful bags with unique details and the pleated hobo is no exception. While it’s available in black, I am loving the gunmetal option. Every girl should have a beautiful metallic bag. It’s the perfect complement against denim. This shade of gunmetal would be equally beautiful with shades of white which is so on trend this season. Even though it’s metallic, it is not restrictive as to what metals you can wear.
There’s brass and silver tone geometric details with small flat studs. The rectangular plates vary in size and are used in interesting ways by layering and placing side by side. The unique geometric shape plays against typical hobo type of slouchy rounded edges. The geometric styling is also played out in the leather exterior. Triangular and trapezoid shaped piece are stitched together to create a subtle texture that further complements the styling.
It’s a nice roomy bag with a size of 12″ x 18″ x 4.5. Yet, it has a ladylike styling with it’s short leather wrapped, rolled handles meant to be carried by hand or forearm. There’s also a detachable shoulder strap with a 23″ drop for cross body carrying. It’s large in size, yet totally hands-free!
