---Quote---
LOUIS VUITTON CELEBRATES L’EXCELLENCE DU SAVOIR-FAIRE ON THE OCCASION OF THE 150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE RED CROSS

17 November 2009 - Louis Vuitton organised an auction co-hosted by Sotheby’s London at its New Bond Street premises, where seven Special Orders, created by masters of savoir-faire, were sold for a total of £495,000.00.

All proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Nigerien Red Cross Fighting Malnutrition Programme. This programme aims to contribute to the reduction of acute malnutrition and mortality of the most vulnerable population, including expectant and new mothers as well as young children under five.

The gala dinner was attended by Tasha de Vasconcelos, Gustavo Santaolalla, Bryan Ferry, Ferran Adria Acosta, Patrick-Louis Vuitton, Yves Carcelle and Antoine Arnault.

Louis Vuitton paid tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Red Cross by creating seven limited-edition Special Orders, made in the historical Asnières workshop that celebrates this year a century and a half of savoir-faire, tradition and innovation.

Louis Vuitton offered six masters of savoir-faire the opportunity to create a unique special order that embodies their exceptional expertise in their respective professions. The six personalities are: the chef Ferran Adrià, the artist Damien Hirst, the photographer Annie Leibovitz, the musician and composer Gustavo Santaolalla, the designer Marc Jacobs, Patrick-Louis Vuitton, the head of Louis Vuitton’s Special Orders department and a member of the fifth generation of the Vuitton family. To commemorate the event, Louis Vuitton has crafted a limited-edition Red Cross medical trunk.

“We are very proud to collaborate with the Red Cross on such an iconic occasion and to offer our support to this exceptional association which for the past 150 years has played a major role in the fight against the instability of this world”, says Yves Carcelle, Chairman & CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Cheyenne Westphal, Sotheby’s Chairman of Contemporary Art Europe, commented: “The money realised at tonight's gala dinner charity auction is testament to the generosity and skill of each of the six personalities involved and the global luxury brand Louis Vuitton, who collaborated to produce each unique special order. The sum achieved this evening will benefit the Red Cross for their programme ‘Fight Against Malnutrition in Niger’ and Sotheby’s is delighted to have been able to play a role in raising those funds.”

I am thinking about buying an LV bag for myself. I am 20 years old and just got out of college. I am thinking between LV Monogram Abesses and Damier Graphite Daniel GM. What do you ladies suggest? Please give me some advice. Thanks!

Hi girls! Iam Really serious about ordering the LV speedy 30.
I want this bag because I don't have a lot of money to spend and whatever I do buy I want it to be classic and not go out in 6 months. My plan is to decorate this bag with chains on it and make mine look totally different from everyone else's. I want a scarf on it and idk what else I will put. This way its like I have a different bag all the time. It just has a base and my personal flair.... ANYWAY

What do you think Monogram or Damier?
Damier , people will think its real.
Mongram is soo well known for LV and everyone has a fake one.

its also my first bag LV. That puts things in perspective right?

maybe I should try accessories on each one in the store.. hm

EDIT; PLEASE explain why in full detail as much as you want! and what you don't like about the other one
Thanks girls!

Okay I know its not a lot BUT I bought the Chaine Anneau Cles Dore in GOLD today !!!!!!! . I have wanted this for so long and I decided to save up and just BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I can't wait till it comes in the mail.

I know I can attach it to my keys an my wallet. I could also use it to decorate my bags ( what I will most likely be doing). If I really wanted to I could wear it around my neck.... I also thought it would be a very classic bag accessory because a chain can never be "so last season". its eternal :D

I ordered it over the phone and Iam supposed to recieve it within 5 or 6 days from tenessese, Iam a new LV customer now .!! YAY!:pinkheart::wirr12:

Next purchase I will order the Lv speedy30!!! YAYAYAY ..
