Hi Everyone!!!

I hope you could help me.....

My Mother works as Manager of a "Sue Ryder Care" charity shop in the quiet, sleepy town of Wisbech, Cambrigeshire, England. Today a Christian Dior handbag was donated to the charity shop...

The last thing she wants to do is to undersell the item as every pound she recieves for it helps so much towards the cause in this troubled financial time.

She turned to me to find out what i could about the handbag...i tried Ebay, but nothing similar there...and after a quick google search i found myself here.

Let me tell you a bit about the important work "Sue Ryder Care" does, they provide care and support for people with a range of life threatening diseases including cancers, multiple sclorosis, strokes, brain injuries as well as providing hospices for these sufferers in their last days...

Please take a look at their website Sue Ryder Care (.org) as my eloguence in describing all the things they acheive is short selling them completely!!!

I'm new to the forum, from London. I recently bought a Dior Gaucho, large tote bag, from eBay. I received it this morning and it just doesn't "feel" right to me - the leather is grained and shiny and it doesn't smell like leather.

I've just examined it further and have found that the handles are almost flaking like there's paint on them at the bottom (I've included a photo) - there's just something about it, I don't feel right. (It could just be because it's eBay, but I've bought authentic items before and not had the doubt!)
For some reason I can't upload photos - I think that they're too big, I've put them on Flickr which will also allow you to zoom etc (especially on the damage on the handles, it's literally like flaky paint at the bottom around the metal ring)

I'm extra nervous because I was of the understanding that the "grained" Gaucho with the pleated surround (the plaiting in the same, non-contrast leather as opposed to the normal Gaucho which has a contrast colour, i.e. tan contrast on the black gaucho) only came in Black and wasn't expecting this bag to be as grained as it was. Also, the dustbag is very thin, not cotton with thin nylon pullstrings.

hi there I responded to your post on another forum. the bag is good but if the handles are a problem I would suggest contacting the seller.

Hello Everyone-

I need some help! Based on my knowledge of DIOR this SEEMS authentic. I have emailed the seller and they have been very helpful. They posted more pics for me so I could see the tag inside front and back. I just emailed them again and asked them if I could see the front and back of the authenticity card as well.

Ok- so the tag inside says "Christian Dior" and underneath it it says "Paris" and underneath that it says "Made in Italy". When you flip it over there is a serial number.

Now...

Isn't it supposed to say "Made in Italy" with the serial number on the back side and "Christian Dior" and then underneath "Paris" in front?

They won't let me post a link on this forum cause I guess this is my first post? Anyway the seller on ebay is orchids_rose and the bag is: Christian Dior Diorissimo Hobo HandBag NLC44164 N0 NEW

I bought a clutch coin purse at an antique store. Definitely vintage. Can't tell if its real or not. It's not in the best shape but I can clean it up. Hi i plan on buying this purse and was wondering if someone could tell me if this is authentic. I've read the manuals and reference guides and the only thing I'm really not buying is the authenticity card if what people say is that it shouldn't have gold writing??

I plan on asking her to look at the back side of the Christian Dior Paris interior tag to see if there is a serial number/date?
