I got this coupon/letter in the mail saying that Coach is getting sued because of mis-use of information so they gave me 30% off or $25 off if Coach lost the settlement.

Did anyone else get this!?
Shoot, if my information is out there somewhere, I'm going to be so. ARGH!

NOTICE OF PROPOSED SETTLEMENT
KEEP THIS CARD. Upon the court's final approval of the settlement, this card will entitle you to 30% off a future purchase at any full price Coach store in CA. The final approval hearing will be held on November 12, 2008. The store discount will expire 6 months after final approval. This discount can only be used on the purchase of full priced merchandise, cannot be combined with other offers or redeemed for cash or gift cards, and is limited to one per customer. The website listed below will show when, and if this discount becomes available and expires.

The parties have agreed on a proposed class action settlement of certain claims against Coach, Inc. The settlemtn will resolve claims that Coach improperly requested address, phone number, or email information from certain customers at its stores in California. Coach denies these claims. Coach's records indicate you are a member of the proposed settlement class.

Speaking of coupons, I had a 25% off one that was good through the 24th. But I was in that accident and then I never got to use it. Do you think they won't send me any more coupons because I didn't use this one?

No, it doesn't matter if you use or not. I think is ramdon, sometimes I get them sometimes I dont. I notice that everytime I buy something I get a coupon after and barely use them because I got them after I make my purchases.

To the original question, what settlement, what lawsuit?

I called coach and talked with some rep there.. apparently there was a coupon sent out to california residents, but she couldn't give any details.

She gave me the web address, I swear she said "woodclassaction.coach", or "wouldclassaction" or something. but I couldn't find it
