Hey, I just got the same letter in the mail today! This is rather strange though.
![]() But if Coach acknowledges it, then it must be for real! I still don't understand why and for what are they getting sued?

I got the claim 30% card in the mail. My Hubby who is a web administrator tried to do find out why "woodclassaction dot com" isn't working on the website. He was able to trace the original website and he believes WoodClassAction dot com will be available online once Nov 12 comes. Since I cant post links, msg me to get the link and instructions to view the contents below:
" Welcome to the Wood v. Coach, Inc. Class Action Settlement Website Summary of Proposed Settlement The parties have agreed on a proposed class action settlement of certain claims against Coach, Inc. ("Coach"). The settlement will resolve claims that Coach improperly requested address, phone number, or email information from certain customers at its stores in California. Coach denies these claims. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS WEBSITE CAREFULLY The Superior Court of Contra Costa County, California, authorized this notice. It affects your legal rights. Please read carefully. The Purpose of the Notice There is currently pending in the Superior Court, Contra Costa County, California, an action entitled Wood v. Coach, Inc., Case No. C-07-01146 (the "Action"). On July 30, 2008, Judge David B. Flinn tentatively approved a proposed settlement to the Action. The Notice is intended (1) to inform you of the lawsuit, (2) to describe the Settlement and how you can receive your Settlement benefit, (3) to notify you of how your legal rights are affected, (4) to let you know of the upcoming approval hearing, and (5) to give you instructions on how to get additional information about the case and the Settlement. The Class is defined as: All persons who (i) purchased merchandise with a credit card or debit card from a Coach store in California between May 23, 2006 and July 23, 2008 and (ii) for whom Coach, Inc. first recorded the person’s address, telephone number, or email address during such purchase transaction. Click here to read the full Notice. Settlement Benefit If you are a member of the Settlement Class you will receive a summary notice in the mail that also serves as a Discount Voucher providing you 30% off a future purchase at any full-price Coach store in California. The Discount Voucher will be valid for six months from the date of final approval of the Settlement. At your option, you may exchange the Discount Voucher for a Credit Certificate entitling you to $25 off a future purchase, subject to certain limitations. If you receive a Discount Voucher in the mail, please check this website after the November 12, 2008 final fairness hearing to learn when your Discount Voucher will be activated. For more details about the case and important case documents, please review the Key Dates/Docs page, or use the Contact Us page to contact the Claims Administrator." |

If you think this is a scam, why don't you contact the court house who is handling this case.
