Default Is it true that coach is TOO common nowadays?

    Hello loveys,

I just want to ask your opinion on something, as I joined this facebook group, "Mums who are addicted to bags" and some of the members are saying that they do not like coach anymore as it is TOO common in the U.S. it's like everyone has them (one saw the train conductor or something sporting it and apparently a 12 year old girl)... I totally disagree and was kind of hurt at the things that they're saying about coach bags... I personally think that these bags are just sooo pretty that people end up carrying them.

It's totally unique here in Australia as you can't purchase coach anywhere, I think the only coach dealer's from Sydney and Gold Coast, I did not find one from Melbourne in the coach website but I think David Jones has them.

Let me kno what you think girlies.

    Cheers,:)

If you like Coach, then buy it. It shouldn't matter what other people think. Yeah, Coach is common around here in the US... but they are all fake Coach where I live. LOL! Everybody and their sister has a fake Coach bag. I have a few Coach, but mine are real. I prefer not to get the plain signature though, since some "uneducated" people out there will just assume mine is fake as well. But anyway, I'm rambling... so if Coach is a little less common over there, then by all means, knock people's socks off.

I like Coach...I don't mind what peopel think...plus I can actually AFFORD them...

I mean, given the choice I would rather have a Louis Vuitton, but I don't have thousands of dollars sitting around to spend on a bag...

^^^ Hehe... yeah, Coach bags are like "fillers" for when you want to buy something but can't afford an LV. It's okay, you know I'm poor too. I'll buy a Coach bag if I see one I really like. I have to really like it though.

I think everything monogram is quite common nowadays, both authentic and fake.
That's not enough to completely write off a brand.
Technically, it's all mass-production anyways so nothing is really "unique" when it comes to handbag. Unless they are one-of-a-kind creations.
Even if you were to get a Birkin, there's still tons of people who have that bag. Maybe the percentage/population would be less than with Coach, but even then you're not the only one with that bag.

Well believe it or not...I had a lady to snirl her nose up to me and give me the exact same comment. She stated that she would NEVER carry Coach because it's too common. Well as far as the 12 year old.....I'm sure there's lots of very wealthy families who have given their 12 year old a Louis as well, but noone screams it's common. For me I too can afford Coach and Dooney and this is why I've carried these bags the most. I do own one real Louis but my mom purchased it for me about a year or so ago or I wouldn't have it. It's what you like.....and how you feel about carrying it. To me....as long as it's not fake....then it's designer regardless of the name. We all are different and have different taste in handbags, guess that's why there's millions of styles to choose from!

I'd love to have the more expensive bags too but I don't have the right to splurge that much as I've got little ones. :)

Where I live...Coach IS common! But I like it. If I were to get another Coach, it'd be all leather.

Coach is as common as anything else. If you like it, buy it.
Personally I am disappointed in Coach. Back in my day (when I used to buy it in abundance roughly 10 years ago), they had beautiful, classic styles, in colors that one could appreciate and wear all year round. I walked into a store several months ago and all I saw were racks full of logo bags. Sigh..... I hate logo infested bags.

Well I agree, If you like it buy it! I actually LOVE coach. We do have a coach store about 30 miles from me....and you would die if you seen the deals they have. I even asked if they had something wrong with them because they were so cheap! I bought a Mini Signature Soho satchel bag 2 weeks ago. I didn't need it but couldn't resist it. I even thought about listing it on ebay around christmas. It was tagged 358.00 or so....and I paid 125.00 for it...and the matching wallet was tagged 218.00 and I got it for 49.00. Now that's a deal!! I think those fake sellers sell theirs higher than that! LOL

you sound like such a great mommy!

about Coach - i agree with what the other girls said about how it shouldn't matter what others think. i mean yes, Coach is a very common brand. but not all of their bags are common, if you look at it that way. i see mostly signature styles (which are the most common styles among many brands including LV). personally, i still like them even though they're a common style, but i don't buy them as much anymore. i have like two signature Coach bags from the outlets that i purchased when i first got into brand name/designer handbags. i thought Coach was like the best brand ever at the time...until i discoverd LV and other designers, lol! anyways, i think that you shouldn't worry about Coach being to common, especially where you live (since you mentioned it isn't as common there) and that you should get what you like and enjoy it!!! whatever makes you happy is what matters...

I'm in a playgroup locally, and one of the moms recently made a comment to the effect of "why would you carry a coach if you own a LV?" Um, because I LIKE Coach! They update their styles more often than LV, and it's no fun when you only have 2 or 3 textile prints to choose from.

^well, that was a silly comment she made. just because Coach isn't as high end as LV doesn't mean that one can't carry both brands.
