Re: Coach boycott??
Yep, they totally brought this on themselves. Which I why I said earlier that I can understand why they are writing the letters and banning people. They realized their mistake and are now trying to do "damage control"... but they really have no one to blame but themselves. I'm not saying that it was the right thing to do... especially in such a rude and demeaning way.

Re: Coach boycott??
Marissa, I never said that the general public should have to abide by the "rules". I simply meant that I can understand why Coach is so upset now... even though its their own fault. So, anyway, if you cousin were to buy a handbag at Dillards and they actually used it for awhile and then got sick of it, they still couldn't sell it on ebay? I think there is a difference between specifically purchasing something for the purpose of selling it and purchasing something and using it and then deciding to get rid of it because you don't like it anymore.

Instead, they allow people to get discounts, get pissed when they realize its all getting sold on ebay, and then act rudely to these people who are apparently good customers since they buy stuff from them all the time.

Hmm...I didn't miss your point, my comments were directed to Coach. I actually agreed with both yours and marissa's statements.
Or was this not directed towards me?

No, I was talking to you. Sorry, I guess I didn't realize you were talking to Coach. It looked like you were telling me that people have every right to sell Coach stuff on ebay as if I was saying that they shouldn't be. Sorry! But yes, I do agree with what everyone is saying... I was just trying to pull a different viewpoint in.

Re: Coach boycott??
It seems like everyone is thinking that they are just targeting people that sell for profit. Or people that buy there products at a cheap price and sell it to make money. It's not JUST that... Coach DOES NOT WANT PEOPLE SELLING ON EBAY PERIOD.
If I pay full price for a bag.. and I don't want it anymore... Coach doesn't want me selling it on ebay. That's is just ludicrous. Who are they to tell me what I can and can't do with one of their products after I have left the store and it's in my possession.
I buy something... I have every right to do whatever the hell I please with it. I paid for it... they can't tell me what to do. I hardly shop at the outlet... I shop a lot at dept. stores, and the Coach store and pay full price. Sometimes I don't pay full price because I know someone high up the ladder of Coach but I would never sell those products. For them to think they can tell me what I can do with a product after I spent so many hundreds of dollars on it.. is REDICULOUS.
and to comment on BoysrSmelly.... dept stores don't want their employees selling products they bought at that store period or you are fired. I don't have an answer to this... I'm not a manager at a dept store. If you have a purse you don't want anymore.. and you bought it at the dept. store that you work for. Why don't you go ask your manager what he would think if you sold a purse you wore for a while and you don't want anymore? If he doesn't mind... then I would sell it too.

Re: Coach boycott??
Wow! The Coach Inc. company is incredibly stupid! I agree with all of you... I live near a Coach outlet (10min. away)... and I also live near the U.S.A/Mexican border... You would not believe how many Mexican people come over here to purchase huge quantities of Coach items (as well as other brands) to sell in their shops and stores in Mexico! Soooo... many people buy to resell! Same goes for many American people who buy and resell in thier restaurants or shops (this kind of activity is seen here in South Texas)! ... and it's funny because the bags sold at Coach's authorized retail places such as Dillards, Macy's, Marshalls are much cheaper, price wise, than what regular people sell them for.... Yeah, that might sound a bit confusing... I just strongly think that Coach did wrong in humiliating thier consumers like that!

Okay...like I said in my first post, my comments and disdain were directed at Coach. This was the first I had ever heard of this scarlet letter. I take ethical business practice seriously but more importantly, I take moral human treatment more seriously. I have sent corporate a formal letter, even though, I have never even personally purchased from Coach nor do I know any of the recipients of these 'letters'. So rather than bicker back and forth, I recommend everyone channel their hostility towards Coach.
So, once again, I repeat... My disdain is for Coach, the company.
I care about people, not corporations.

Re: Coach boycott??
laluella - No one is bickering sweetie! We're having what the French would refer to as a "lively conversation". Actually, I'm kinda surprised you guys hadn't heard of this before. This was a HUGE deal on KKO awhile back... maybe a year?

Re: Coach boycott??
To clarify...by bickering, I meant petty squabble...which is what was going on. I'm new to the forum world so I guess this is normal? It seemed silly. I think venting to Coach rather than at each other would have been more productive.
Marissa - I'm part cuban...trust me, I know what cursing up a storm is. You definitely don't need to be cursing to bicker (in the spanish way).
Eeks...I guess I'm engaging in this "lively conversation" now...

Re: Coach boycott??
Wow, lol. Anyways, about Coach almost going out of business, is this why their prices are so high now? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought their prices had increased. Serioulsy, some of their bags are as much as a speedy! No offense to anyone but I'd never pay $600 + for a Coach bag.
And yes, I agree that they are a stupid company and I can't believe they'd do crap like this. And I think I'll just stop at that comment, lol...

Re: Coach boycott??
^^^ Actually, I think what they have been trying to do is have more "luxurious" bags. There's one on there that's Alligator and its like $7000. So they have their "low end" stuff which is the signature print (which has experience some markups, but not extreme) and then their is their "high end" stuff. Honestly though, I don't think their more expensive bags are really worth what you pay. I think they're just trying to make it look that way.

Re: Coach boycott??
^^^ I've just seen stuff on there within the $500-$700 range and never remembered seeing those prices before. And I agree with you about what you said on them having a few "high end" items. IMO, I think it's just ridiculous. I mean serioulsy, who is going to pay $7000 (and wasn't there one for even $10000 before?) for a Coach bag, even if you do have $$$ to blow??? There are so many other higher end designers out there!
I don't know...I've kinda lost my respect for Coach after hearing the BS they pulled against their own customers. And it's sad because I actually liked Coach and I always make trips to the outlet store because they have some great deals. But I don't know if it's even worth it now. Obvioulsy they are greedy and they have no respect for their customers. I just bought a wallet from the outlet but now I feel like returning it...serioulsy. And it's made in China anyways. I think it's just better to spend the extra money on French and Italian designers, for example, because their products are so much better. Ugh, not to mention the poor little children in China who work for Coach and probably make like one U.S. dollar per day

Re: Coach boycott??
i wouldn't spend more than 100 on coach now, If THAT! their 7000 bags are a joke!! there are tons of other designers much more worthy of that money.
