Can your tell if authentic or fake? Vintage Coach w/photos
Hi again (from thread below). I need your HELP figuring out if this bag is authentic or fake. I've been having a hard time attaching photos; I hope it worked this time so you all can have a look. What do you think?
bag.jpg creed.jpg bag inside.jpg bag side.jpg bag closeup.jpg creed: THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT IS HAND- MADE OF GENUINE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER, AND IS SPECIALLY TREATED TO MAINTAIN A NEW APPEARANCE OVER TIME. MADE IN THE UNITED STATES No 0567-343 Thanks! ![]() |

Hard to say without photos. Nowadays, it seems Coach is making most of its bags in China, but many replicas are made there, too. Serial numbers also appear on the fake bags, so the number alone won't help you. Certain styles are replicated in greater numbers, among them the Carly bags, some of the Hampton carryalls, the slim signature clip purse, the Bleeker and, yes, pathchwork bags. What I've noticed is that it's harder to make a good-quality replica of a patchwork bag because of the work that goes into it and the prints. Since it's probably one of the current styles, someone at a Coach store should be able to give you an opinion. Searching authentic and repllicas on the Internet, and comparing photos and other details, can help.

Can't see from the photo. The fact that the seller included only one (fuzzy?) photo tells me that either the bag is a fake OR the seller didn't know any better, that is, he/she is not familiar with the details that make a bag a Coach and so he/she did not know to include photos of various sides of the bag, the interior, the creed, etc. So the seller him/herself might not know. I would stay away for sure.

Hi, and thanks for your reply and info gizzeroo... :)
I sent an e-mail to my daughter and asked her to take a few photos of her purse so that I can post them. The last time I had spoken to her about the purse, she said that a friend of hers told her there was a patch that she didn't recognize as being authentic Coach, so I asked her to make sure she gets that in the photo as well. I'll post the photos as soon as I get them from her. Thanks again! :) |

Hi there...can anyone pls tell me if this purse is authentic coach? The long strap has coach embossed on the metal but it does not have any serial number. It does have the coach booklet and registration card but I'm sceptical. The front of the bag also has the large coach embossed logo and a smaller one attached to the bag. Anyone with info woud be most helpful.

Well, the "pattern" on the outside of the purse isn't the same (hers has multiple blue and gray toned patches) but the style/shape of the purse looks very similar. I'll be seeing her later in the day on Saturday, so if she hasn't e-mailed me some photos by tomorrow, I'll take some on Saturday and post them for you. Thanks! :)

Hi Margo - not sure if you can help me and I'm totally new to this forum. I'm looking to see if a recent "Coach" purse I bought is authentic. It's leather and has the embossed logo on it - but none of the c's. It's a really well made purse but I am unsure if it's real. I posted some pics and maybe you'd know? Pls advice?
