Great site! Very useful info. I just purchased a used briefcase at a thriftstore and am trying to find out if it is real. It does have the YKK zippers. The serial number is L56-0532.
The creed is a little different than mentioned it reads :This is a Coach bag. It was handcrafted in china of a lightweight and durable weather resistant glove-tanned cowhide. (all of that was in caps ofcourse). What do you think?
Thanks!
Brandy

Hi Margo - not sure if you can help me and I'm totally new to this forum. I'm looking to see if a recent "Coach" purse I bought is authentic. It's leather and has the embossed logo on it - but none of the c's. It's a really well made purse but I am unsure if it's real. I posted some pics and maybe you'd know? Pls advice?

Hi - I'm new here - what a great site!!! Love it and hope to be around for a while. :)

I just acquired this bag, and would love to knwo if it is a real or fake. The price tag says it's from a Coach factory store. The serial # is No G0782-F10891.

Is there a database online somewhere that I can look this up myself?

Thank you, thank you thank you!

^^^ The F that's before the style number would be consistent with a Factory Store item. These do not come up in the drilldown, unfortunately. Can you post pics of the bag? We can help verify that its authentic that way.

Thank you! Yes, I bought it - I was fine with it until I had it in my hands, and then I started to wonder. It looks, smells, and feels like a coach - but I've never seen that style before (must have been made just for the factory store?), and for some reason the strap strikes me as weird. The bag is pretty big (12 inches long by 11 or 12 inches high), and the strap is really really thin. My little 7 inch bag has a nice substantial strap, so this one seems weird. It made me wonder.

Thanks again for your help, this place rocks. :)

^^^ Can you post pics? That's an old style number (like 1990s).
