Default Anyone taken a defect bag into Coach?

I have a Carly I adore but sadly it's fraying!! I've owned it a couple years but only used it maybe 6 months of that time? I'm fickle and rotate frequently. Sad to say I'm embarrassed to take it in! What can I expect to happen? Should I just mail it in instead? I don't want my local store hating on me.

Did you buy it from a regular Coach store? Or an outlet? Different stores seem to do different things. What worries me is that you've had the bag for a couple of years already and they may not believe you that you have only carried it 6 months.

I agree with bRs. It's your word against there's kind of thing. You've had it for 2 years, but only you know how much you've used it. I'm sure they get stories like that a lot, so I can understand if they wouldn't believe you.

What do you plan on doing when you go into the store? The particular bag might be prone to fraying because it's fabric, so they may just tell you that. I don't think they'll replace it for you, but maybe they could send it off to have it fixed or something. I say just go into the store because it's much easier, and quicker, to tell them what you want and see what they can do, rather than waiting for a call from them or your bag mailed back to you.

I bought it at Macy's. I called Coach and they said to send it in or take it to a store. The CS agent said that it is not normal for my bag to do that.

I think I'm going to mail it in. I'm too chicken to take it to the store. I want to buy a bag there during the next PCE.
I was just shocked my bag was doing this since I've even had an outlet bag last and last with no wear and three other retail ones. The only thing I've ever noticed on any of my Coach bags was a bit of wear to the hardware.
