Thread: Coach Handbag: Please help authenticate purse! (Part 2)

Okay, here's the deal. I haven't seen or heard of this style before. That doesn't mean anything though. What I find interesting is the clip on the strap. It isn't the typical dog leash style clip you see on most Coach bags. That being said, this is a suede bag. The creed wording matches that of other suede bags. It also has the looped zipper pull like most suede bags and the signature lining is consistent with a lot of other suede styles. I'm not 100% certain, but I would think it is more likely an authentic item. Plain suede bags like this aren't something that is normally faked. I can keep looking around though.

Well the creed No matches the bag and everything seems to be authentic I have been told it is authentic my sis want to buy it but one thing is still bothering me the c's dont match up on the bottom or sides so doesnt tht mean its fake?????????? i dont want to give any1 a fake bag also there is a target looking stamp on the upper right hand side of the creed i was told that means it was old at a factory coach outlet tru or false????

In recent years, Coach has gotten a little more laid back when it comes to the pattern and the bottom of the bag. And the bullseye means it was sold at an outlet. You never posted detailed pics of the bag for us to look at. So if you're referring to what I told you before, I never said it was authentic or not.

The person i got it from said it was authentic and is a friend of mine so more than anything guess im wondering if she is a honest person?!?!

I don't see anything weird. Do you have a clear pic of the creed patch?

its actually looks neater in person i was having issues w the flash ect..
dont know if it really matters but it does have the ykk zipper! also u didnt see anything weird does that mean the c's dont have to match up perfect on the sides?

The creed patch looks fine. And yes, the C's don't have to match perfect on the sides/bottom. Like I said, Coach has gotten a little laid back about that in recent years. A lot of the time, they have just been lining the pattern up on the front and back. They worry less about the less visible areas.

There's nothing wrong with the serial number, it's just an older one. Don't ever use current design details to try and authenticate Coaches more than a year or two old. The details on Coaches change constantly and what was normal a year ago may be very different now.

And you should really let the experts at this forum or at Ebays forums look at what you're selling before you list it to be sure it's genuine. There are a LOT of fakes that can't be spotted by depending on current styles or some useless and mostly wrong "guide" you find on the internet.

The style you're asking about is from the 2001 Amanda line but I don't have an exact name for it, my best guess would be Amanda Suede Hobo, style 6959.

This is good information, I hope moviemanmarty takes your advice. The bag is different from what I am used to seeing, but it isn't setting off any red flags. I am curious though, did all of this Amanda line have the clips like the one seen on this bag? It's curious since this is something different. I know Coach does change stuff up a lot though, so it wouldn't surprise me really.

It's fake. Did you buy it off ebay? You can try to get your money back.
