It looks good to me. Judging from its condition, it is probably newer than 1990s. But like I said, they are still producing these so you have a 20 year window there.

Thank you:) You are soooooooo nice:). I saw it mentioned it's made in united state. I am not so familiar with coach original line. I wondered that all of the coach court bags are made in U.S.A. or somewhere?

I don't think so. I couldn't tell you when they were made where though, so that still isn't going to narrow it down any. Maybe someone else would know? Not sure. Maybe it is older then and it has just sat in a closet untouched for a long time?

hi. i am trying to learn about authenticating Coach bags and i saw one at a thrift store recently that i can't get out of my mind. it was a black purse with a round bottom (bucket bag?), small, with gold hardware. it had 2 flat fobs on it and the creed only had a four-digit serial number that said 4043. any info on whether it was real? i did not look at the zipper for the ykk because i didn't know about that at the time. it looked to be from the early 90's or so, when i bought my first coach bag. thanks!

I haven't heard of a serial number that was only 4 digits. This person did a good job describing all the different formats, if you want to take a look at that.

is there any chance someone will redevelop that "drill down" tool? who is the person that created it to begin with? i wonder why they took it down. sounds like a great tool to help people authenticate coach bags.

3 more posts to go. ha ha. okay, i'll itemize all the Coach bags i have had. just trying to think of things to talk about that are coach-related. here's my list:

    1) mid 90's black, cross-body with brass hardware - sold it at a garage sale
    2) late 90's red canvas and off-white leather Hamptons Diaper Bag Tote - still have it and actually use it as a diaper bag for my baby!
    3) late 90's black brief case with nickel hardware from the outlet - sold it at a garage sale
    4) 2005ish black with white threading bucket bag with zipper closure from the outlet - sold at a consignment store - i always end up hating purses with a zipper
    5) 2011 beatuiful white patent leather satchel with the "kiss lock" center ball frame closure - it's gorgeous!

    too many accessories to count

if you can help me authenticate these two bags, i would appreciate it. i bought both at a thrift store last night. if they are Coach, can you tell me the name of the bag and approximate production year? they are both small and unassuming. one is red and one is black.

here are links to pictures of both.

    red:

    black:
Black Coach 0959-259 - a set on Flickr

    THANK YOU for your help!

It was Coach that had it. It wasn't really intended for people to use. Someone just figured out that you could replace the style number portion of the URL with any style number and it would show you a stock photo of the item. I guess Coach had just archived all their stock photos that way, where the address was exactly the same except for the style number portion. Things changed when Coach redid their website, so I don't know if it was intentional or not.
