Thanks. I have one more, more expensive for Buy It Now, but looks nice, and they accept returns. What do you think about this one? Thanks again.

Thank you so much for all your help. I brought the fake one back to the same consignment store. I had to reconsign and I told them again I thought it was a fake. They took it anyway. We'll see if it sells. It was quality made and cute looking but I just couldn't tolerate what I thought was plastic. Meanwhile I found a great brown vintage Legacy bag in beautiful condition at another consignment store yesterday for $35 and I'm thrilled. I definitely can tell it's authentic, without a doubt. I love the quality vintage ones (don't really care for the new ones of fabric and prints, and all the "C's", etc.) Now I just want a nice beige leather vintage for summer and then I'll stop for a while :) Thanks again.

This one doesn't have as good of pictures, but I still think its okay. It looks like it came from the outlet.

Thanks again. Just wondering why you think it came from an outlet? I posted one earlier that you said looks OK that was clearly stamped "FS" on the leather creed patch inside. Would that mean "Factory Store?" and does it matter? (This one does not have the "FS" stamp.)

FS does mean Factory Store, which means it was made exclusively for the outlet. The reason I said this one looks to be from the outlet is because it has a bullseye stamp. This means it was subsequently sent to be sold at an outlet store. And no, it doesn't matter. It does give you clues about whether it was a bag from the original release of the Sonoma collection or it was one that was made later exclusively for the outlet.

    Hi all!

I received the bag today and had another question I am hoping you all have an answer for..

Here is the bag again...vintage COACH HANDBAG buttery leather all tags document - eBay (item 260510685041 end time Mar-23-10 17:47:44 PDT)

The serial is 427 9944. Is there any way to verify this since they were all unique numbers then?

ALso the zipper pull. Its not YKK obviously but it isn't a Talon either. The larger one has 11 on it and the smaller one has something in tiiny tiny font I cant begin to see but it isn't the word Talon I know. Maybe a couple small numbers or something.

Did Coach ever use this type of zipper? All of the paperwork that came with it seem fine but none of it has the serial number on it. Only the bag does and it is hard to make out.

Would someone even want to fake this bag?....

    Thanks for any input! :-)

Could it be riri? I'm not sure if Coach ever used that brand, but others like Dooney have used them.

I have looked and looked. I don't see riri on it anywhere but I did see a "b" stamp and a "c" stamp on opposite sides. I used brasso to polish and it seemed to be brass. But then I saw a suspicious seem in the zipper that brass doesn't usually have so I scratched the underside and it was silver underneath. The Brass should be solid right?...Things I should not have to question lol

This bag is confusing me! Parts of it seem authentic, the seem details and alignment but others such as the zipper and oh yeah I found a piece of plastic thread underneath the top seem. Did they use plastic thread at all in the 80's?

I can't see why anyone would fake such an old style. Could all the inconsistencies be from non-Coach repair jobs? On both zippers? No likely but possible.

I am sooo glad I only paid 50 bucks for this, but I am disappointed it isn't what I expected.

Hi, I have put in a bid on this one. Does this look authentic? Thanks.

This bag doesn't look authentic. They didn't start making patchworks until the 2000s and the serial/style number is not of the correct format. Also the lining is incorrect. The nylon lining with "Coach" written in it was used in wallets and small leather goods, not handbags. It should be a solid color cotton lining.
