Price Increases for 2008

I was reading through another forum online and found out that there will be another price increase of at least 15% sometime in May.

O-M-G.

This really annoys the crap out of me...seriously. That would mean like $400 more for a med sized flap??? This totally just blows

I don't even know if I want to buy anything from them. But then again, I want a flap so badly that I should get one now before they're like the price of a Hermes...seriously. I'm leaning towards just grabbing it during this "window" where I have the $ and before any more horrible price increases....

Well, if I do get one, it'll be like the only one I'll have until I get my career going. Five years down the road from now , can you imagine what they would cost? 4k, 5k, 6k????

Thoughts?

gosh that does suck. but what can you do, right?

just think 5 years from now... it's going to be -- hmm, should i get a chanel flap or a hermes birkin?

my trip in in the middle of April - that gives me time to grab one before the price increase...if i decide to get it.

I don't think Hermes is worth it.

^ i agree. Hermes bags are beautiful, don't get me wrong. but they're not that big of a deal to me as they are to others. i'd much rather have a few Chanel flaps then a Hermes bag, for example. thought i was the only one who felt that way too.

Nope. I love Chanel but only want a few specific ones. And for the price, we are talking the classics. Although I love my denim one (which is dated) but figure I'll wear that one out.
I tend to stick with less expensive ones because they are interchangeable and I won't have a heart attack when they get stains on them. My new grey Kooba got a water stain within 3 hours of my having it.

Wow! I would jump on getting a Chanel before the price increase, that's so insane!

But atleast you'll know the value of YOUR bag will increase also.

Oh no, they are already kind of out of my price range, but I can squeeze one or two in. Now it looks like it'll be officially too pricey for lowly old me...

It's like gas or something, you think it couldn't possibly go higher, but it does.

^^yeah, tell me about it! i think it's going to come down to just getting the Chanel now before the increase. the one i want is $2,395 and after a 15% increase (ha, if we're lucky to get one that low compared to last time, LOL) it would be almost $2,800. i mean, the first price is such a stretch as it is...it's pretty much now or never for me. and i could buy the others like 'here and there".....

^^^ Well, if you can't get your bag before the price increase... Let-Trade does happen to have one for $2319.99. Of course it will probably be gone to second the price increase hits. LOL!

i guess my reaction is the opposite of how most people will buy what they can before the increase because after this i'm very annoyed and i don't think i even want to get one now. over a year ago, the flap was only around $1,600. this is ridiculous...
