Bought my 1st & 2nd Chanel bag in Paris and my 3rd duty free in London. Oh noooo !!
I had intentions to buy my first Chanel bag on a business trip last week in Paris. I went to the Chanel store on Ave Montaigne - and what a thrill. I was fortunate to go on a Thursday afternoon when it wasn't too swamped and had such a great experience. I wasn't dressed to impress, but was hooked up with the most helpful lovely sales associate (Darlene). When I told her it was going to be my first Chanel bag, she was almost as excited as I was.
I really wanted the sky blue flap, but it was sold out in every store in Paris. After looking at at least 20 different bags (Darlene wouldn't let me settle on one until I saw many options). I settled on a seasonal black flap bag with gun-metal interlocking C's and a classic WOC in caviar with gold C's. I happily left with my purchases, but I won't lie I was shaking a little when I handed over my credit card. The exchange rate was great though. 1.29 dollar/euro plus 13% back duty at the airport.
On my way back home I stopped at the duty-free in Heathrow. When I walked in I was looking around and out of the corner of my eye I noticed it. The unicorn of Chanel bags (at least for me :-) the LAST sky blue flap back with muted interlocking gold C's. Noooooooo....I almost cried. And then I just went for it. I bought it and haven't looked back.
So 2 purses and a WOC later - here I am a proud owner of my first Chanel bag(s).
Flygal warned me Chanel is addictive. And I am officially an addict. LOL My husband hasn't seen the bill yet. So I'm bracing myself for that. HAHA
