Lucky you!! May I ask where you intend to use the bag ie daily bag or for special events?
The reason being:
Classic Flap:
Pros
1) It's a classic, will never date
2) Comes in
many colors ~black is the ultimate classic 2.55 though~ and
sizes~ if you carry lots of stuff you would need jumbo as the medium is too small for daily wear at least for me~ with
different hardware~ silver more casual and gold more formal~ so you will definitely find a version that you adore
3) Also come in lambskin, caviar leather, patent, tweed, satin etc for choice ~lambskin softer but less durable, caviar is best for daily wear, to me for your first Chanel always go for leather~
4) It just elevate your wardrobe from blah to knockout (at least IMO
)
Cons
1) Depending on age, some think it's boring and old lady style (not me personally)
2) Expensive but since it's a gift and if cost is not an issue, then this is not a con

Medium Cambon
Pros
1) I think the medium is big enough to carry daily items
2) Also comes in many different colors combi, styles and leather as well
3) Has the big CC logo at the side (though this may be a con for some people esp if it's in a contrasting color than the rest of the bag)
4) Price is cheaper than the flap
Cons
1) 90% found on the street are fakes so if this bothers you, it may not be a great choice
2) Considered to be more of 'young person' bag esp those with pink color combi so may not be able to wear it for the next 20 years. Although if you think it doesn't bother you, then this is not a con

Maybe other forum members who are more knowledgable and have access to more pictures can advise you on other details. What a wonderful dilemma to have though, wish I had the same
