I've been told that crossbody bags are the hot "new" style for Fall 2009. Now this would be all fine and dandy with me if it weren't for one tiny little detail. And when I say "tiny", I mean that literally. While strolling around the mall last week, I spotted several displays of crossbody style handbags. But a vast majority of these bags were no larger than a Coach swing pack. These tiny bags are great for when you're traveling and you don't want to carry a real handbag, but they just don't cut it when it comes to everyday use.

Where's a good ol' messenger style when you need one? Well it looks like Botkier has stepped up to the plate this season! Introducing the Botkier Taylor Crossbody Bag! It is the perfect size for everyday use and the crossbody styling allows you to be hands-free. I really like this bag because it has a fun bohemian vibe about it. The slouchy style features pinch pleat detailing and delicately laced fringe. It would look lovely paired with some distressed leather boots, which are also hot for Fall. What I think I like most about this bag, however, is that the style isn't so trendy that you couldn't still use it in the years to come.

I love the crossbody style. It's perfect for when I'm on a shopping trip -- like that's my only mission.. and I want my hands free. Also it's a perfect style for a traveling companion.

However, like you mentioned above it is a pain to try and cram stuff into.. if you have a mini. Which is why I love this Taylor! It's so boho-chic which I'm loving for fall!

About the color, it's kinda hard to get an idea of the color brown when the Botkier site has different shades for the same bag:

Image above is of the satchel in "Brown Lambskin" from Botkier.com. To me it looks so chocolaty, and shows off the beauty of this purse.


But when you click on the details it looks much duller.

And comparing that to the pictured above in your post, the color looks so much different. And I'm pretty sure these bags are all considered "Brown Lambskin". I could be wrong though.

I don't really like this bag. With all the skinny threads hanging below it looks like it was made from scrap.

I agree. If this is the true color then I love it. Although crossbody does have its advantages, I prefer the satchel.
