    Default Brush suggestions

I'm soliciting more suggestions from you guys! I only own a few brushes and mostly I make do with the little crappy applicators that come with make up. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for must have brushes, especially for eye makeup application. Are there any brands that are better than the rest, and what specific brushes do you find yourself using all the time? Hopefully with some advice from you guys I can grow up and buy some proper applicators!

Costco makes their own brand called Borghese (sp?) that are supposed to be on par with some of the most expensive cosmetic brushes on the market such as MAC. These aren't cheaply made brushes either! They are very well crafted with quality bristles. They come in their own carrying case with magnetic snap. I found them to be of such exceptional value that I wanted to buy a set for my mother and sister as well. I know that the name Costco is not particularly synonymous with cosmetics but if you want a brush set that gives you superb bang-for-your-buck value, drop by the cosmetic section of Costco and pick one of these up!

Here is a link showing the set with the new carrying case ( I bought mine a while back when the collection was silver toned with a silver carrying case)

I have a few MAC brushes that I like, but I mostly use Bare Minerals brushes. I love their brushes. I can't live without the contour shadow brush.

Wow, who would have thought that Costco would make quality makeup brushes?! I never would have even thought to look there. Next time I'm there I'm going to have to check that out! Thanks, Gungy!!

My everyday brushes are MAC's 217 and 239. Sometimes I'll use the 272 or SK small eye shader brush instead of the 239. If you want something that works good and is affordable - try Sonia Kashuk! They can be found at Target and they are so good!

I second the Borghese brushes. I also own them and I can say that they are the best brushes that I have ever owned. I highly recommend them.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

For a Face brush, try mac's 187. I own one and it's perfect for that airbrush effect you can use it with your liquid foundies. it's versatile actually :)

I always use a large powder brush, a blush brush, a liquid foundation brush(you can find many uses for this one) an eyeshadow brush, an eye contour/ or blender brush for crease. also, an eye definer/ eye liner brush. It sounds a lot. But, good brushes are an investment. And, if you take care of them, they should last you forever. Clean them, (especially brushes for liquids, like foundation) after every use with a anti-bacterial spray cleaner (these are quite cheap) or, anti-bacterial baby wipes, at least. Then, at least once a week, do a deep clean, under running water (always pointed downward so the water won't drip back into the handle and degrade the glue, shortening the brush's life.) and dry flat. Dry completely before use again. Clinique has good brushes with a patented antibacterial coating on the hairs (which are not animal hairs, and will not cause allergy) for a very reasonable price. Between $16-$35. Most reasonably priced for department store brushes. There may be good ones at sephora and such but, I have no info on these, myself. My personal favourite brushes are Chanel, you can really see and feel the difference. Even blindfolded, I could tell you which brush was a chanel brush. I also know that the mineral lines, like bare escentuals, have their own brushes that are best for their product. They are actually hollow bristles, to hold more product.
    Good Luck

Not just because of the name, but Chanel brushes are the best, hands down.
