Darn it, I knew I bought the wrong one! I just went to the drugstore and grabbed Maybelline's "The Falsies"

Let's see how good this stuff really is..

Honestly very surprised by the results. It really made lashes super long!

That's great! I've been vering towards department makeup lately, like mascaras and eyeliner. Can I see a before and after photo. If you don't mind that is Sometimes on the commercials they wear falsies, so it's hard to tell.

Sure, I don't mind. I already took my makeup off so I'll take a picture tomorrow.

Do not give in to the cheap price - spend the $5 more & get the Maybelline Studio Gels if you're on a budget; because the $3.99 Essence liners SUCK!

I've never really used drugstore makeup before, except for the Maybelline's "The Falsies" (so impressed!). @chunk & @Caitlin_ what are some of your favorite brands for like eyeliners, concealer, lipstick, etc.?

Ooh, what a list this will be!

Eyeliners, gel-wise, Bobbi Brown are my favourites; on a budget, I do love the Maybelline ones, especially when they come out with LE shades. I do like the MAC Fluidlines, but I don't think they're as good as BB's. I would like to try the YSLs, but... we shall see. The YSL brush isn't as nice as the MAC#209, or BB Gel Liner brush; it's thicker and tends to splay out more. So, that's kind of been a disappointment and it hasn't made me want to run out & buy YSL liners.

My favourite pencils are the MUFE AquaEyes, Lise Watier Waterproof, UD24/7, and the Prestige Total Intensity or GOSH Velvet Touch if one is sticking to a budget.
Cakeliner - HG is still the Laura Mercier for tightlining.

Concealer I haven't found my HG. I do like the Hard Candy Glamouflage, the CoverFX ConcealFX, LM Secret Camouflage, and the discontinued Maybelline Dream Mousse one. I find a good corrector really helps; and I can usually throw on that & the YSL Touche Eclat and not need a real heavy duty concealer under the eyes - I hate seeing young women (well, anyone but especially college/high school girls) with two much undereye concealer or the too-light reverse raccoon concealer.

Lipsticks: my favourite formula far & away is the Tom Ford Private Blend. The Chanel Rouge Cocos come in a close second, followed by the NARS Pure Mattes. I do like the YSL Rouge Volupte; but I find them too creamy so I do tend to use them only with a gloss. I love the Rouge Allure Velvets by Chanel - the new-ish mattes, but they're not as pigmented as the NARS ones; they don't last as long as the NARS though they do feel better/slide on better. I like the Rouge Coco Shines but they can be drying (not horribly so IMHO/E) but I do think the new Dior Addict Extremes are better and do what the Shines want to.

I bought a Guerlain Rouge G about a month ago, finally wore it for the first time yesterday (#64 Gemma) and I'm VERY impressed. Unfortunately, a lot of the shades run really coral/warm and a lot of what I tried went orange-russet on my pigmented lips. If they manage to come out with a full-coverage baby, milky, blue-ish pink I will be all over it.

Drugstore-wise, I really do love the new Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks, I've bought #8 & #14 and both are very nice - creamier than the rest of the Lasting Finish range which has been very dry IME. Unfortunately, Rimmel never seals they're packaging well so it might take visiting a lot of CVS's/Shoppers. I do like the Revlon Color Burst & Superlustrous line; I do not think the CB Butters are that great... though I'm now up to 5. I think the L'Oreal Color Riche balm things, while less pigmented on the whole, have a MUCH nicer formulation.

Wow you sure know your makeup! I love Guerlain lipstick too. Always wondered about that Kate Moss for Rimmel stuff.. Really they don't seal it? That's interesting.

At my Shoppers, the Rimmel stuff is NEVER shrink-wrapped, with the exception of bronzers, unfortunately .

I hate going into Wal Mart, so I haven't checked their Kate Moss for Rimmel selection.

I have always stuck to drug store brands and for luckily for me, they work well. From face creams to make-up, it has been fine and i have pretty much flawless skin...i don't need concealer at all.
I also buy a lot of Anew products from AVON and they have been great.
I have occasionally tried higher end brands and have always ended up with some allergy or the other or not liking the feel of the product.

For mascara i use the I.N.C brand which is available in Target for $2.99!! It goes on beautifully, does not smudge or flake. Mascara is Maybelline.

the only product that i really make sure to buy designer brand is perfume.
