Yes... it is!!! You are supposed to wash your hair every other day. Or even Every 2 days... washing it constantly takes all the oils out of your hair. It's actually healthy to have your hair go greasy sometimes... although you might wanna stay in your house when you do that... but the oils are going back into your scalp and hair when you let it go greasy. When the oils are taken out of your hair it has that dry look. I was told days you don't wash your hair... act as if it's wet and blow dry it. It has all the oils that have settled at the ends of your hair to go back up into the roots... let's it have that "I just washed my hair look"... trust me... it works!

I use Brilliant Brunette by John Frieda (sp?)... I wash it... then I put Biosilk Silk Therapy on it before and After I dry it. On days I don't wash it... I just put Biosilk Silk Therapy on it... in the AM and PM.

Hmm... well if you live near a Costco... they sometimes have it there for $10! Target also sells it.. they sell it for $20. It's a reasonable size bottle... but you can always find deals on it at Sears, Costco, and Trade Secret.

Thanks for the info... I should check that out. When you have super long cave women hair like me... you get split ends quite often!!!

I use Brilliant Brunette also.. well.. last time I went to the store I grabbed like everything available of the product to try it out... shampoo, conditioner, color glosser (daily 3 min leave in), and the shine shock... and truthfully I think its drying out my hair! Next time I go to get my hair cut Im going to switch back to Aveda products

do buy your products from a salon though i hate seeing professional products being sold at target cvs etc. they are not suppose to be sold there and alot of the time the products are old i have seen some paul mitchell products at cvs once and i knew by the packageing that the bottle must have been around a year old companines change there packageing often to you know if it is old of not

here is an article Consumer Alert - Diversion

During college, I worked in a spa as a nail tech. I got discounts and samples of all the big name products like Redken, Goldwell, Pureology, Matrix...and you know, they didn't work as well as my good old Pantene-Pro V from the grocery store. Usually I wouldn't be able to get a comb or a brush through my hair when i used those salon brands.

My hairdresser always tells me how bad pantene is for my hair if it comes up, how it coats my hair with a waxy residue and damages it. But the last time I saw her she told me that I should be a hair model, my hair is so silky and smooth and healthy. So I figure she's probably just trying to make another sale with her fancy salon products.

I use Pantene shampoos and conditioners every day, and my hair is shiny, long, and strong. Sometimes I treat the tips with some extra conditioners from Garnier Fruictis or Aussie. Maybe I have an oily scalp, or maybe it's my careful conditioning, but I never have trouble with dry hair. If my stylist is right, and there is something that leaves a residue on my hair in Pantene, that's fine with me because my hair is so fine it needs the extra help to slide around and not clumb up in matts.

I'm thinking of buying the Aussie Dual Personality line, supposed to be good for getting the scalp clean and moisurizing the roots. I think my scalp is oily enough that I don't neeed to wory about drying out my scalp.
