Gene Juarez just started doing eyelash extensions and they are not cheap!

I go to Swink Style Bar here in Seattle. It's where like everybody goes. They've been doing it for such a long time too.

The prices: At both places for first timers, to get a full set it's $200

You need to go in for a fill every 3-4 weeks. Gene Juarez is charging $100 for an hour, at Swink, it's only $40!

Well, the Avon stuff did not do much except make my lashes a little thicker maybe...back using Lilash for about 3 weeks now and I already am seeing some length.

I've never heard of Lilash. Looks like there's alot of great reviews online! Keep us updated :)

I'm about to go in for my filling. Not really that excited about going being disconnected mid-day for an hour. It's like taking a nap, but I'm not tired. I'm also a little nervous about this appointment. Everytime you get your lashes filled they give you a new wand for brushing your lashes while at home. Well a couple nights ago I was really tired and sloppily ripped off a couple of my lashes (ouch!). Good thing lashes grow fast!

Have you guys heard of mink lashes? I wonder if they last longer. I just realized that I just went in last week and I already have to go back in for a fill! Uhg. This is an expensive little luxury

I am so over eyelash extensions. They just don't want to stay on my lashes.. so I'm going to try Latisse. I have an appointment tomorrow at a Medispa.

Warning about eyelash extensions: over time they thin your lashes and make them shorter. I've been using Latisse now for 2 1/2 months and my lashes feel like they are just now getting back to the normal length.

So I'm giving in ~ jumping back on the eyelash extension trend!

    Pros

    - When first done, they look amazing!
    - No eye makeup needed

    Cons
    - Overtime your real lashes get shorter. I had to use latisse to get them back to length.
    - Expensive. The first visit on average ranges $140-$240. Touchups every 2 weeks, $60

If you're thinking about eyelash extensions, keep in mind:
    - First visit apply time is 2 hours. You're a pro if you can fall asleep during this.
    - Touchups are recommended every 2-4 weeks. This time varies based on your lifestyle, how often you workout (ie if you're doing hot yoga you'll have to go in every 2 weeks), and how well you baby them. Make sure to get their specially formatted eyelash cleaner.
    - I would go in every 2 weeks to keep mine looking perfect. This is because I pick at them.
    - Don't pick at them!!!! If you've had eyelash extensions then you know what I'm talking about. When the new growth comes in there's a gap, and sometimes it would get caught on my eyelash brush.. bringing my real lash with it. This is why your lashes get shorter.
    - Based on the thickness of the extentions it's noticeable when new growth comes in. So keep that in mind when picking your width.
