How to make your hair look decent when circumstances will not allow...
Okay, picture humid rain forest. Then picture me having to wash my hair in the evening before going to bed. Then picture my hair being a horrid mess in the morning.
I know this might seem like a dumb question, but does anyone have any suggestions or techniques or hair products that they would suggest? I want to be able to wake up in the morning without my hair looking like crap. I can pull it back, but I'm still afraid it will be fuzzy or I'll have weird horns sticking out everywhere.

Scarves? Like an old-lady scarf on my head?
How would you suggest I use that product? Put it in my hair at night? I won't have a hair dryer so my hair will have to air dry. There is a very good possibility my hair will still be damp when I go to bed.

I feel you BrS. My hair suffers in humid weather so I will braid my hair while it is still wet. I wore my hair like this for 2 weeks while we were in Thailand
I also wore hats.

I have this same exact problem BRS!!! I try to put it in a bun so its not as crazy but then its still a little damp in the morning. My curls are all over the place and they do not cooperate at all!!!

Yeah, I thought about trying to braid it. My hair isn't quite long enough yet to pull everything back though. I have a few months yet to let it grow though. Hehe, and yeah, I was looking at hats too. I need to find a non-winter hat though, which is a bit tough to do at the moment.

What kinds of product do you use?

My problem is that my hair has curl, but it doesn't have enough where I would have ringlets. Instead I have weird, uneven waves that make horns on one side and bumps on the other.

^^ I'm going to suggest Moroccan Oil. I wash my hair at night and I put Moroccan Oil in it and I sleep with it. I've definitely noticed a difference in how my hair dries. It's expensive, but the bottle is pretty big and you only use a dime-sized amount.

Cassandra - So do you think if my hair is damp and I put it in at night before I go to bed, that my hair will look non-bedhead-ish in the morning? Hmm... I guess I could sleep with braids in my hair as well.
I know this is going to sound silly, but I just don't want to have my picture taken and I look all goofy. Then everyone at school and then some would see how awful I looked during the trip.

same here with the "curls" they have no pattern or way about them! Mine stick out by my ears, they kind of poof out towards the bottom, it's weird! I would love to see if any of these work?!

I have used paul mitchelle skinny serum seems to help make it not so heavy and smooths out the frizzies. If I should forget to dry my hair or something, the next morning I use my curling iron and it just makes all the frizzies goe away and my hair is happy. I make very sutle curls nothing to creative.
or style your hair before and spray elnett all over it so it stays in place and you can just brush your hair to make it look fresher. that should keep you for 2 or 3 days.
Re: How to make your hair look decent when circumstances will not allow...
I won't be using a curling iron. LOL! Hmm... I wonder, they probably have funky outlets there, don't they?
I'm still thinking maybe the sleeping with braids in my hair is the best route.
Sisa - What is this elnett you mentioned? Is it a type of hairspray? I've never heard of it.
Re: How to make your hair look decent when circumstances will not allow...
Iam totally serious its the best hairspray ever.
After you spray it holds the membrane shape of your hair and it stays like that for a week and you just brush it and it still won't come out of shape. its amazing.
google elnett. - its european by l'oreal.you won't believe the crazy stories..
