    Default Help! Paypal Question

I don't keep a lot of funds in my Paypal account. I transfer money into it as I need to. Everytime, I pay with Paypal, I would transfer money into my paypal account from my bank account first so the seller gets immediate payment. But transferring funds takes 5 working days which means I would have to know way before hand that I intend to get something cause by the time an auction ends, I would totally miss out cause I haven't got the funds in my Paypal account in time.

Do you do this as well, or do you just pay with Paypal, the seller is notified that payment is being processed and they just have to wait for the funds to come through when Paypal takes the money out of your bank account?

Some sellers say that payment has to made within 2 days. It takes longer than that for Paypal to get money out of my bank account. I'm not sure if they would consider it non-payment even if you've paid and the money doesn't come through in time.

    TIA

My Paypal is linked to my bank account so when I pay for something with pp it's automatically taken from it. I don't know exactly how long it takes for the seller to get paid, (I'm thinking instantly b/c if my bank account has insufficient funds, it's also linked to my cc) but I've found that after payment, I usually get my package within 3-4 days!

A lot of sellers require buyers to pay immediately upon winning the item; however, ebay rules establish that a buyer has up to seven days to pay. Regarding PayPal, my advice is to link the account to a credit card, not only because you can pay right away but, more importantly, because the cc protects you if the transaction goes wrong and PayPal tries to skru you.

My paypal account is linked to my bank account. If there isn't money in my paypal account when I use paypal to pay for something, it is automatically debited from my checking account.

My pp account is linked to my visa check card. So it's protected by having a cc and it also comes right out of my checking account instantly so the buyer doesn't have to wait.

If you are going to continue using pp that way, I would just make sure not to buy an item from a seller that requires immediate payment!

Sometimes I have had my funds come from my bank account and I let the sellers know that it will clear - they didn't have a problem with it. But my last purchase...I used my credit card - that way, it is instant and you are protected!

Thanks, ladies! I'm just very new to Paypal and ebay and I have this fear that my money would disappear into cyberspace if I make a mistake. That's another story... I've got a credit card linked to my Paypal account anyway. When I used my DH's account, the money gets taken out straight away from our bank account but when I used mine, it took 5 days for the seller to get paid. Luckily she was very understanding.

I'm going the juicyholicmum's way now and select credit card and then transfer from my bank account into the cc account.

When you choose to take money out of your bank account - it usually does take 3-5 days to clear.

If you have your CC linked up to your PayPal - it will be an instant payment!

good choice!!! at least you're CC won't charge interest if you transfer your money from your bank account to your CC...
