    hmmm that's why...

I was wondering why sellers can't leave negative feedbacks anymore... that's a bit unfair though I reckon... What about people who bid and don't pay?

That's what I was thinking. I sold 2 items of clothing on eBay a few weeks ago, and I couldn't leave negative feedback (not that I needed to). I was thinking, "what if this person didn't pay?"

As a buyer on eBay, I'm glad with the new policy but understand sellers feeling upset about non-paying bidders. So many times, I've wished to leave a NEUTRAL feedback without fear of retaliation and never could. If buyers pay within 24 to 48 hrs from auction end via Paypal which go through right away, then sellers shouldn't hold back their positive feedback and hold it as a weapon for buyers who may be upset with what they got.

I've had to overlook sellers who grossly overstate the condition of an item which are cleverly hidden on their pics and then expect buyers to pay for return postage as well as charge re-stocking fee for a return - "I've carried it only twice, still as new/mint" (through a hailstorm, in a safari, NYC rushhour subway, more likely) or "never carried still has tags attached" (but was found tossed about in the sale bin for weeks prior to original purchase).

Cool Re: WSJ news article: "Ebay Angers Sellers, Pleases Buyers"

Have you noticed how everyone who's ever own a bag selling on ebay has carried it "only once or twice"? Is anybody, anywhere, ever, going to break the world record and use a bag three times? There's a lot of bolony out there...

    Well said, lol.

I guess the sweet pooch/kittie or toddler in the pic don't count either when they make their "barely noticeable" water? stain. And "it doesn't detract in any way from the beauty of this bag" - the h*ll it does. Besides, I'm looking to buy your bag not your family.
